Not to bring politics into this, but I can't help but laugh at the fact that Jill Stein's fundraising campaign is looking to yield more money than Billy Lynn, Bleed for This, and Rules Don't Apply will in their entire theatrical runs. How embarrassing.

I just mentioned earlier in the Classic Conversation thread that that scene (Adams seeing ATJ suddenly pop up on Jena Malone's baby monitor) nearly gave me an actual heart attack. lol. The only thing that bothered me is that we're supposed to believe that Edward's novel is supposed to make Susan feel remorseful for cheating on him with new husband Armie Hammer (who, as it turns out, is now cheating on her) and has gone so far as dedicating it to her. Anyone would've been glad to have dumped a creep like that. Even though it does make the last scene (Susan waiting at the restaurant for Edward for hours only to realize he stood her up and broke her heart like she broke his) all the more biting.

They look like they would belong in a Robert Zemeckis mocap movie.

Allied will go down as a big domestic miss due to the budget. Oh well.

I don't think there was any way of making Rules Don't Apply anything more than a miserable flop tbh. Beatty is too far removed from his prime to have any significance for today's audience, and the movie looks like it has the kind of out-of-time quality that recalls Aloha or the worst of latter day Woody Allen.
