  1. So it is official. Jurassic World scored the biggest opening weekend of any film in history. Congratulations to Universal, Chris Pratt and everyone else involved. One of the most shocking results ever. Time for them to take a dollar bath now.
  2. No problem. It's gonna be the biggest movie of the year in most other territories, so there's that.
  3. So, is the OW record happening or not? Sorry if it has already been answered, but I don't have the desire to read through the last 60-70 pages.
  4. Even if it doesn't, the OW record should still fall IMO. Universal will fudge it if necessary.
  5. I agree it's possible, but if one of These do it, I think it's gonna be Bats vs Supes. Let's be honest, from the general audience nobody is gonna see a JL movie for The Flash or Green Lantern. They're gonna see it for the Trinity and since that will already appear in BvS, I wouldn't be surprised at all if BvS has a bigger opening than JL.
  6. So the OW record for JW is still on the table? Nice. Hope it gets it. I'm seeing it this afternoon, and some of you guys' reactions to it have made me really excited for it. I'm ready for some dino action.
  7. Mostly yes, but I think people really enjoying 5 and 6 also had at least something to do with it.
  8. It should match AoU in China and beat it in Europe. Don't know about the rest of the world though.
  9. I think it could go as high as $250m in China and maybe slightly higher domestically, too. I think HP8 numbers are the ceiling at the moment, but who knows where it'll end up if it has great legs everywhere.
  10. I think as long as Ant-Man makes 150m domestic and 400-450m WW it should be considered a success since the budget was probably quite low for a superhero movie. And I can't see it going much lower than 150m DOM/400m WW. The Marvel brand is too strong.
  11. I still don't believe in a gigantic OW for JW. IMO an OW around 100m and a total around 250m should be considered a success since it's the first JP movie in 14 years and JPIII was generally disliked.
  12. These are still good numbers, though Deadline overestimated almost everything as usual.
  13. The Conjuring 2 is nearly a lock to do it, but I don't know what other horror movies are coming out before it that have a chance.
  14. I know. I thought Spy would have at least a bit more appeal since Melissa McCarthy is quite popular here, at least from what I can tell, but I might be wrong.
  15. Man, Entourage is really flopping hard. At least Spy should do well before the dinos arrive next weekend.
  16. Not surprising though considering the beautiful weather. Hopefully next weekend will pick up substantially.
  17. Great increases, especially for SA which seems to already be getting good WOM.
