  1. In that regard, we're really spoiled from this year so far. I don't believe the next few years are gonna have so many surprising/shocking runs like 2015, but we shouldn't be upset about that. This year is an anomaly in that issue IMO.
  2. AiW2 is definitely going to do well overseas, but domestically it'll have a gigantic drop from the first IMO.
  3. Disney live-action films as well. Maleficent and Cinderella were huge in Japan.
  4. I have no idea why I haven't reviewed this film here yet, but I enjoyed the hell out of it. Basically the entire cast gave at least good performances with Colin Firth being the clear standout. SLJ was quite funny, though I needed a while to adjust to his lisp. The action was very well directed and you can really see Vaughn's specific style shining through. The church scene in particular is one of the best action scenes I've seen in years with incredible choreography and a great song playing in the background. Though the movie starts off a bit slow and I wasn't a huge fan of Eggsy at first, he definitely became better and more likable throughout the course of the film. Overall, a really fun time at the movies. A-
  5. Great movie. The cinematography and the score are outstanding. Furiosa is a complete badass, as is Max and the action scenes are obviously incredible. Especially the sandstorm sequence is breathtaking. I have some issues though. First of all, while Furiosa is a great character, she was really the main character in the movie. Now that's not a bad thing per se as she is awesome, but since the movie is called Mad Max I would've wished Tom Hardy to have at least a bit more screentime. Also, some of the dialogue felt kind of clumsy to me, and the story really isn't all that great. However, those are only minor issues and I definitely enjoyed the film a lot. It was two hours of batshit insanity and I loved it. Hail Miller! A-
  6. I think one of them could remain in the Top 2 next week, too. Will be interesting to see who's it gonna be.
  7. Yeah, even Age of Ultron is going to end up over $160 million below the first one. Hotel Transsylvania 2 and especially Spectre should be fine though.
  8. You guys are killing me. I can't see Inside Out until October dammit.
  9. I don't want to sound revisionist, but I've actually thought for a while that TG was going to disappoint or flop. The trailers just looked poor to me and it's never a good idea to spoil a major twist in commercials.
  10. I think these Minion numbers show just how popular the Despicable Me franchise is here. IMO it's only behind Ice Age in terms of animated movie series and at least on par with Madagascar.
  11. No need to apologize. I can understand that you thought your experience during your time here was normal, and there has definitely been way too little amounts of rain this year. Farmers are really concerned about their crops.
  12. Despicable Me 2 also came out during a hot summer two years ago and still did great so I'm not entirely surprised by Minions' success.
  13. I think the rest of Suicide Squad's cast is too good for even Courtney to ruin it, so I think it's gonna be a hit.
  14. JW is gonna pass DH2 and AoU this weekend to move up to fourth place all-time. And it should ultimately pass Avengers, too, right?
  15. Even if TG has a fine opening, its legs are likely going to be terrible. It does seem now that it won't be a Tomorrowland-level bomb, though.
  16. That's not exactly true. The last couple of weeks have been quite rainy, but now summer has taken control.
  17. The Good Dinosaur could do it as well. Dinos + Pixar = Money
  18. He only had a very small part in it as Superman, but he was quite funny IMO. His banter with Jonah Hill's Green Lantern was great.
  19. It's not guaranteed by any means, but it had two sub-50% drops although coming off two record-breaking Weekends. So I think it's very possible.
  20. Man, those are some great Saturday bumps. Except for Ted lol. That movie looks more and more like a true bomb, not just a disappointment.
  21. Man, those numbers for Ted 2 are surprisingly poor. All signs point to the first being very well-liked, so it should've at least opened higher than its predecessor with much weaker legs. But I'm kinda glad some movie disappointed because we've been spoiled with humoungous breakouts for the past few weeks. Something needed to bring our expectations back down to earth.
