IMO Anger Management is one of his underrated gems. Every time I see that movie I'm crying of laughter, mostly because Jack Nicholson is just hysterical.
I'm seeing Ant-Man today. Wasn't excited for it at first, but some of your reviews made me at least curious.

On the last part. AFAIK previews came about after the Aurora shooting because people were obviously hesitant to go to midnight showings, so they just started showings earlier. I do think that the first Hobbit movie still had "true" midnight showings, so earlier previews really started to become a thing in 2013.
If it happens, it'll only be the second time since Titanic's release that its total would be passed (third time if you don't count the re-release). And from an admissions standpoint, its run will likely never be matched.
Universal seems to not really care about such milestones, so unless JW gets within $2-3m of Titanic by itself, I don't see them pushing it above Titanic.
