James replied to kayumanggi's topic in Box Office Discussion
The song choice is not that bad lol. And I forgot Johnny is in this. Now I am excited for it! -
Thanks!

Could you please provide me with a link for the daily box office updates in SK? I had it at some point, then I lost it. I want to track POTC5.

WONDER WOMAN | 409.2 M overseas ● 821.8 M worldwide
James replied to kayumanggi's topic in International Box Office
I am starting to doubt 400m OS for this, but I hope it gets there. China doesn't seem to be breaking out and from what I see the case is the same for Easter Europe (here for example the presales are quite mediocre... even though a lot of that has to do with opening after POTC5 which sucked all the air from the market; it seems to be the same for Russia). I am hoping for strong Western Europe and LA support. -

I see why WB wants to lowball, but the trackers are drunk. -
Considering 2011 had hugely better ER and the 3D was at it's peak, the fall is really not that bad. And while Disney may have bigger properties, this is still a huge (especially OS) player. I doubt Disney will throw that away just because they have SW or TA. Plus, if they market the return of well it should maintain interest.

I really think it will happen. As I said, I expect good legs OS. It is a perfect summer movie. 800M-ish WW will be enough to push Disney to make another one, especially seeing how it is doing very well in China. They will probably add some Chinese actors. And the merch is huge for this.

Just got home from Pirates 5 and no surprise: I FUCKIN LOVED IT! The humor really worked. It is the funniest movie of the series. And while it is not on the level of the first three movies, it is definitely better than the fourth one. Also, surprisingly, the new co-leads really worked! I really cared for them, which is a change from how I felt about the guy and the girl in the fourth. And that after credits scene!! Can't wait for the next one! I am just sorry for WW this weekend here. POTC5 had one of the best OWs ever and the WOM is amazing (8.5/10 on the biggest movie site here). I also think the legs OS will be very good. As for trailers, I got WW, Thor 3, Spidey, TLJ. Thor got a great reaction.

The fact that this is no. 1 and 5 on Pulse for hours now on a Discount Tuesday is a great sign. MOS numbers are the floor at this point imo. -

LOGAN LUCKY | 08.18.17 | trailer on page 2

This looks amazing -
I don't think likable characters should be a judging criteria. They were well made characters. I like clay pretty much, but overall my favorite arc was Justin's. He had it much worse than Hannah and the end of the season was horrible for him. As for the glorification of suicide and rape, I feel most people refuse to talk about those. The world nowadays is such a stupidly sensitive place.

The Box Office Buzz and Tracking Thread: Electric Boogaloo

This is dominating social media, especially Twitter. A lot of older people will watch it because of it being the first time an iconic character is on screen, a lot of women will watch it, duh, and apparently a lo of young people as well. I am feeling more and more like this will be the breakout hit of the summer. Wouldn't it be hilarious if this managed to open bigger than BvS? -
Top 10 of 2018 predictions: From JAN 1st 2018 to DEC 31st 2018
James replied to YM!'s topic in Box Office Discussion
I think the market is big enough to fit all three of them. And we shall see about The Incredibles. Even with 450m DOM I still don't see 1b. -
Top 10 of 2018 predictions: From JAN 1st 2018 to DEC 31st 2018
James replied to YM!'s topic in Box Office Discussion
Here's my 2 cents on this: DOM 1. Han Solo - 480m 2. Jurassic World - 465m 3. Infinity War - 460m 4. Incredibles 2 - 380m 5. Deadpool 2 - 360m 6. Aquaman - 305m 7. Fantastic Beasts 2 - 300m 8. Mulan - 295m 9. Ready Player One - 275m 10. The Grinch - 270m OS 1. Infinity War - 850m 2. Jurassic World - 805m 3. Fantastic Beasts 2 - 650m 4. Transformers 6 - 610m 5. Mulan - 605m 6. Mission Impossible 6 - 510m 7. Han Solo - 500m 8. Ready Player One - 490m 9. Deadpool 2 - 480m 10. The Incredibles 2 - 450m WW 1. Infinity War - 1.31b 2. Jurassic World - 1.27b 3. Han Solo - 980m 4. Fantastic Beasts - 950m 5. Mulan - 900m 6. Deadpool 2 - 840 7. The Incredibles 2 - 830m 8. Ready Player One - 765m 9. Transformers 6 - 750m 10. Aquaman - 710m Also, out of curiosity, I've seen a lot of very low predictions for FB2, especially DOM. The first one had amazing WOM and legs and with teh addition of Dumbledore I don;t see how this one will fall from that. And what is with the huge WW predictions for The Incredibles 2. I understand that DOM it might be huge, but OS wasn't that impressive back in the day. I just don't see 1b for it.
