I kinda have to disagree on Princess Bride. I used to love that movie, and parts of it are still fantastic. But I saw it a few years ago with my daughters and realized that Buttercup does *nothing* in that movie. I mean, seriously, there are 2 female characters, and Miracle Max's wife has more personality and zest than Buttercup does. She's basically there to be pretty and get saved.

On the other hand, it has Michelle Pfeifer at peak attractiveness which has some sheer aesthetic value.

Not to make you feel bad, but my 11-year old has seen it 4 times, including at the theater (Alamo did a screening).

Wow. Most impressive. Well, technically not "most" impressive. I mean, this is effectively Pt1. If Pt2, whatever its name, turns out to be equally good... the pillars of heaven could really shake. It actually *could* do 300M OW.

In a way its a shame. I DO think he’s the man to make the follow-up, non-Skywalker centric trilogy. The problem was that he wasn’t the right director for Last Jedi. The Skywalker story wasn’t QUITE done yet and he did the fans and this trilogy a disservice by jumping the gun in moving on.

True. Watched it with my then-10 year old daughter about a year ago. She said it was agonizingly slow. Admittedly, no 3d or IMAX hurt the visual impact, but I think the march of time hurt it even more.
