not true, not against this film, i enjoyed the first one, i am just talking from box office perspective. Obviously there are certain individuals who "asked" for it, its a figure of speech, you know what I mean. also I did not see it opening weekend.

Pacific Rim had a sequel because China grossed over $100M and they believed the Chinese audience could expand much further. Not to mention it was made by a Chinese company. I don't believe that is the case With Happy Death Day which I dont think is getting a China release.

I didnt know that, however, CAptain Marvel is still the highest Women number. It is interesting to note exits, which show the film playing to an opening weekend crowd that was 55% male and 45% female, which is the smallest gender divide among films in the MCU, but nowhere near the 52% female crowd Wonder Woman played to back in June 2017.

what do you mean the target audience didn't show up? The movie just made 150M OW? in terms of women being 45% of the audience, so what? Most marvel films have 35% women audience or 40%. Captain Marvel has higher women attendance than any other marvel film yet. so I'd say the target audience did show up.

speaking of Ouija 2, if that can't get a ouija 3 made, then I dont see why a hdd tree would happen, given 2U made significantly less than ouija 2, on the same budget.

I just checked Mojo and yes, WW is the only 100M opener to reach 4x multi. Changes when you adjust for inflation of course but unadjusted it's the Queen.

can't wait to see it. An even more mediocre Marvel film than usual... it's impressive. It always amazes me that Marvel hires the most talented and interesting directors and then the end product turns out to be the same regurgitated rubbish.

the most amazing thing about this release for me is that it managed to reach 150M opening with zero Endgame tie in. I thought it was a given that Marvel would release a trailer for Endgame featuring Captain Marvel.

yeah, definitely. mojo's down atm so can't check but I can't think of any other films ever that opened to over 100M and had a 4x multi.

She doesnt have much of a pre MCU career. She only made The Rider and another film which no one has heard of. Ryan Coogler had Blackvale Station and Creed which were both well received films. But nothing compares to Taika who made a few movies all of which have overwhelming positive reception.

This gay stuff is silly... why does it need to be added? Romance is one thing Marvel has time and again failed at. So much so they dropped it for most of their recent characters and films and killed off the romance characters. The only places it works is where the romance is between central characters (Ant Man & Wasp , Star Lord & Gamora). Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk, all suffered from awful romance plots and characters. Recent movies like Dr Strange, Spiderman, and Black Panther were much better off for not having romance included, and Iron Man, Thor, Cap are all better off for having their romantic interests be killed off / written out.
