"Zootopia has the best legs since Frozen"
What does this sentence even mean? Can you explain please?
You don't think there have been any films in the past 3 years with 4x OW multis? Not a single one? lmao
Japan & furries? Are you just trying to make some generalisation about hentai furry porn or some shit?
Here is a list of the Japanese grosses of every single talking-mammal animation that grossed 100M in America:
Kung Fu Panda: 17M
Kung Fu Panda 2: 13M
Horton Hears a Who: 0.3M
Madagascar: 20M
Madagascar 2: 10M
Madagascar 3: 26M
Ice Age: 16M
Ice Age 2: 8M
Ice Age 3: 1M
Ratatouille: 33M
Over The Hedge: 9M
Puss in Boots: 14M
The Good Dinosaur: 12M
Bolt: 17M
(Excluded Lion King & couple of others as couldn't find any data)
Not a single one grossed over $33M. So I don't know where anyone would be getting the idea that the Japanese love animal animation.
No, not locked. Only Japan left to go and if you look at WDAS's previous movies there, they are 77M, 249M, 30M, 31M. So it's hard to predict, at least from my pov, knowing very little about Japan's BO. But major western animated movies often just do 30M or so, in which case it wouldn't get 1B.
That $18M/£13M figure is from last weekend - including previews, that's 12 days into release. Not really 3 weeks, is it.
It should still hit £20M+
Although I agree that compared to USA it is an underperformance. Imo due to so much competition. Opening against BVS was never an amazingly smart idea.
