Honestly, I really feel that the month of the year makes virtually no impact on box office - other than holidays. Deadpool would perform exactly the same any other time of the year (assuming same competition, marketing etc). You can maybe make a case for something like Fifty Shades using Valentine's Day, but even then, I don't think the release date made much impact on that. I mean, if you're talking about R-rated movies, look at the top ten: #1 - February #2 - January #3 - May #4 - June #5 - May #6 - December #7 - December #8 - June #9 - July #10 - March So I don't really see any reason to think February is special.

I am lowballing BvS at around 370M. That's probably one of the lowest predictions on the forum. And given that Deadpool is not going to be getting past 350M, I don't see how it could possibly outgross BvS. BvS would have to increase like only 5% on Man of Steel in order to be under Deadpool. Which ain't gonna happen.

And it looks like PPZ isn't even going to be doing very well in the UK. If it had released on a different weekend it would have fared better, but Deadpool, Zoolander, How to be Single and PPZ all opening (to various degrees) on the same weekend, Deadpool is just leaving everything else in the shadows.

Yeah I got all the wolverine jokes in the movie, which I found really funny, but didn't realise that was from another X Men movie. I know Deadpool is part of X-Men so I just thought it was jokes about X-Men.

I'm not sure you understand ratings. It is impossible for the film to remain the same and get a lower rating. Even if it did, I don't see why it would add a huge amount. Teenagers can still see it, they just have to have an 18 year old with them. Being rated pg13 isn't going to get parents to see it as a family film when the adverts show that it isn't.

Probably much less than it is making now. If it was lower rated, it couldn't have the swearing, sex references and violence that has made it stand out as something different

Sad news for Zoolander

dunno about anyone else but for me, the reason there's no shock/celebratory response is that 90-100M weekend has been what I was expecting for the past few weeks. So the numbers not really a surprise.

Lmao, I am not seeing the new Terrence Malick film just for Natalie Portman. I'm not so shallow. Well, I never found the original Zoolander funny, so maybe that's it. I laughed dozens of times, it was really consistently funny. In Deadpool, there were several sections where I just stopped laughing and when there was finally a decent joke I would be like, "damn, I forgot I'm meant to be laughing"
