I had shrugged them off as silly kids films, but I finally watched the first one last year, and loved it - both films (haven't seen 3 yet) are lovely pieces of honest animation that don't try to cram in pop culture references and humour all over the place. They're just enjoyable, very well made with a lot of care and love put into them.
Yeah, Aloha is the worst movie of the year by some margin, but most people haven't seen it. Like say what you want about Jupiter Ascending or Jurassic World but there's no way they come close to the true turds of the year.
You mean Mara got in over Blanchett...?
And no they didn't have equal support. There's been some controversy over why Blanchett was lead and Mara supporting in awards ceremonies, and here on the forum I have heard way more support and praise for Mara than Blanchett regarding the film.
Carell is the strongest of the ensemble but it's really not saying much, I didn't find anyone particularly strong, the characters seemed pretty vacuous and one-note. I didn't like the film unfortunately.
You sure? Every so often the camera quickly turned away from the fight and back, blurring the frame completely for a half second, it looked pretty clear they were where the different shots were split.
