  1. Yeah that's fair enough. America needs to get unlimited cinema subscriptions like we have here! It means I see about 3 movies a week atm.
  2. This may sound bad but the Sarah Jones incident seems to have had a very positive and constructive impact on parts of the film industry as there is a greater awareness of safety concerns.
  3. Films I will see in the cinema this year -- Maggie Southpaw Love & Mercy Paper Towns Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation A LEGO Brickumentary Fantastic Four Ricki & The Flash The Man From UNCLE Straight Outta Compton American Ultra Hitman: Agent 47 Jane Got a Gun The Transporter Refuelled A Walk In The Woods Black Mass Captive Everest Maze Runner Scorch Trials Hotel Transylvania 2 Stonewall The Martian Legend The Walk Adam Jones Steve Jobs Pan Bridge of Spies Crimson Peak Goosebumps Rock the Kasbah Scouts vs. Zombies The Peanuts Movie Spectre Trumbo By the Sea Mockingjay part 2 Creed The Good Dinosaur Midnight Special Seth Rogen Christmas movie Victor Frankenstein The Danish Girl In the Heart of the Sea Sisters Point Break Snowden Joy STAR WARS STAR WARS STAR WARS STAR WARS and I'll see a bunch of others too no doubt. there, plenty of movies coming up before the end of the year!
  4. I think you'll find that the lead character in Whiplash is Mr. Fantastic. And Jake Gyllenhaal was rumoured to play Doctor Strange for a time. So there's that.
  5. I was gonna say earlier, if my cinema is anything to go by (which it probably isn't, since it's a different country) then Ant-Man will earn 26.31M this weekend.
  6. Thursday previews allow studios to extend the opening weekend so that they have 3.5 days of box office in the space of 3. They can make their weekend numbers seem more impressive than they actually are. Welcome, by the way.
  7. Looks like no sellouts for Inside Out this evening. I wasn't able to track day sellouts unfortunately. By comparison, Minions had 9.9% sellout rate in the evening (though obviously that was released when schools were still on). Atm I am predicting £5.74-6.07M for the weekend.
  8. I don't think any of us can say how intelligent he is. Box office is clearly not his area of expertise so it's unfair to judge him on it. As much as I (and many others) have laughed at him, I think he is doing the best he can until they hire an actual BO analyst to manage Mojo.
  9. Pratt has yet to prove he has any star power. When he has his first major flop.. ooh, I can't wait.
  10. I like Hunnam as he was good in Queer as Folk, I haven't seen anything else of his other than Pacific Rim. But it's just hilarious watching Hollywood miserably attempt to make certain actors a thing. Huh? Was Idris Elba meant to be American?
  11. Look at this club, there were a few who had it above 375 last minute (i.e. the week running up to Thursday morning when the club was closed) and two of us above 375 for quite a while: http://forums.boxofficetheory.com/topic/18360-closed-jurassic-world-over-jurassic-park-we-win-booyakasha/
  12. I predicted Jurassic World to be in top 10 all time, does that count? unless he is another poster who's changed their name, I never saw Excel post once until Jurassic World had been released.
  13. I agree that Sniper was far more surprising and impressive than JW.
  14. 47% drop from a hugely decreased OW is not exactly great. Are you forgetting that DM2 opened on Wednesday? It made like 40% of its gross in its extended opening weekend. It's a major franchise so it is front loaded. Simple as that.
  15. It doesn't have bad Wom. It's just front loaded, as DM2 was as well.
