  1. thanks for reminding me @Blankments that i need to rewatch this some time. What a great film!
  2. Indeed it was crawl i was right, glad i couldn't make it to the cinema in the end.
  3. Is there really no way to write B ) or 8 ) without separating them
  4. aren't they only in like one scene together? havent watched it since release tbh.
  5. Rumour is Ian McKellen is coming back right. So could be possible that they bring other elements from the films. Howard Shore doing the whole TV show would be amazing. doubt it happens though. Doubt it happens though.
  6. Didn't Rogue One have an exclusive 5 minute Dunkirk clip in IMAX? That was very cool when I saw that
  7. If Warners think they can fudge Pikachu, they are wrong. You cannot beat WARCRAFT. WARCRAFT will reign for at least 10 years+ as highest grossing videogame movie.
  8. For some reason I thought they showed incredibles 2 before it came out in USA but you're right. And pretty sure Hobbs and Shaw has already had premiere and social media reactions right? Yes it is impossible for them to go the other way on the age rating. It would be illegal for Cineworld to admit 16 year olds into the screening of an 18 rated film, and they would be in SERIOUS trouble. It is impossible to be ouatihollywood. I thought Blinded by the Light was good. Havent been to another screening in a while.
  9. Adam Sandler will get a Best Actor nomination. Save this space. And yes it's super competitive this year tons of big name actors giving - or hopefully giving - strong performances in prestige films.
  10. Sure, but I didn't hear any "It's Lanthimos - there'll be Oscars" 6 months before The Favourite released.
  11. It won't be Once Upon A Time in Hollywood since that's an 18 and the secret screening is 15 maximum. think most likely is Crawl probably? Occasionally it's a big film... Hobbs & Shaw??? I have my ticket booked too although I'm going out for dinner with friends first so may not make it in time.
  12. Yes I agree but it's more likely than a goofy comedy. Yeah it does happen, I suppose you could point to The Favourite last year even. But generally the comedies that got Oscars were quite some time ago, it's much more drama focused now in past few decades. It happened back in the olden days. And haven't seen the trailer but pretty sure it is still a full on comedy no?
  13. What has SLOP 2's performance got to do with Minions? They are unrelated brands and most audiences probably aren't even aware its the same studio. Minions are still well in the public consciousness. You could even argue (though I'm not sure I will,) that DM3's decrease was because it was a less Minion focused film and had new characters no one cared about when the audience just wanted more minions.
  14. I think Black Widow will do extremely well but I would agree I don't think it is going to receive the "female empowerment boost" that Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel had where they were inspirational to young girls. But that doesn't mean it can't do just as well based on other reasons such as being an existing character and the oldest Avenger in the MCU and coming off of Endgame.
  15. Did Minions actually have bad WOM from families in America or is that just from adults? (Difficult for me to tell because it was well liked here in Britain, including getting many rave reviews from critics) Being front-loaded due to fanbase legions of kids doesn't mean it had bad WOM.
  16. it helps that 4 times as many people saw Get out than hereditary. That's usually the key to non-dramas, having eyes on it.
  17. I'm not familiar with Little Women or Marriage Story (not even heard of that) but I reaaally doubt Jojo Rabbit is an Oscar player. It's a comedy. I saw someone the other day suggest that Taika Waititi in Jojo Rabbit is a frontrunner for Best Supporting Actor... Some sections of the internet are just deluded. Comedies don't play well at awards, particularly Oscars, they never have and they never will. As for Irishman not being ready, perhaps Netflix should push it back to next October 2020 and spent another $30m in the meantime...? 🤔
  18. Since when is Noah Baumbach some kind of acclaimed oscar-status director? His films are cute and all but they haven't garnered many awards as far as I'm aware? Greta Gerwig, sure.
  19. I think between the #1 film of all time, the #2 film of all time, and the #3 film of all time, it's clear that being 3 hours long isn't a barrier from box office greatness.
  20. If IGN commenters/readers think it will suck, it will probably be great. Things are boding well for Black Widow.
