    Had lots of caffeine. Glad I didn't fall asleep. It was a lot less funny than I expected, but it actually worked very well, characters are really well written. Can't remember the last time I had an emotional response to a superhero film, guess it must have been Yondus death in Gotg2. Well done Shazam!. And just as a superhero origin film it is miles ahead of anything in the MCU. Third act drags a bit but generally I liked everything in this.

    I am expecting somewhere around Ant-Man 50-60m, anything above that is tremendous for this.

    I have a ticket for this evening. Thing is I've not had any sleep, so will have been up for 36hours when I see this. Chance I'll fall asleep for the whole film = high

    What a great weekend for Us. It's so nice to see an original auteur film given tentpole status, and to see it succeed. I didn't like Get Out but looking forward to seeing this.

    Problem is it's a very niche audience this appeals to, and most general audience will have no desire to watch this. The star power will help this which Rush didn't have but I still can't see this doing too well. I wonder what the budget is, hope it can turn a profit.

    Lmao so I'm with my mate and he gets send a umm quite revealing snapchat from a girl he likes and his first reaction is "hey Tree get your phone and take a picture of my phone before it expires". I am such a good friend.

    It's such an overused trailer song. Feels like a gimmick when you hear it. Also think they need to do a better job of the trailers. I think Disney overestimates their ability to sell products people don't want. The trailer makes it seem not even barely connected to the previous movies.

    Alita overperformed massively, many people were expecting it to make 50M and flop like Jupiter Ascending, Warcraft etc whereas it'll finish with what 85M. almost the same as the last Terminator in fact.

    You feeling okay? The action sequences in TDK and TDKR are phenomenal. He makes fantastic use of models and real things with little CGI as possible - and he allows shots to play out and give an impact. helps that he works with talented cinematographers and knows how to lay things out in a frame.
