  1. Such things are best kept private. It would be better to express their condolences by displaying it on beginning or end credits. Preferable beginning.
  2. I actually feel this has a better shot of being the FIRST legitimately good video game based movie than Warcraft.
  3. I just finished watching it. Didn't find it slow at all. Loved it. It is basically a man vs nature/man vs wild/survival of fittest and revenge story. All those metaphysical elements were kinda unnecessary though. But yeah...135 million is too much. I guess if you insist of shooting the movie only when natural light is available and the conditions are right then you are bound to spend excess money on crew + catering
  4. I just downloaded it and watched first part. It is a brutal movie man. Really good so far. Screener is excellent quality. But ya I don't see this releasing on single screens and most multiplexes in India. Only the multiplexes in tier 1 cities will show it and that too 3-4 showings MAX for a week.
  5. Not sure if WB will move Tarzan. They need to release a tentpole in summer and fortunately/unfortunately Tarzan is it. The first teaser got a good response from the fans. Now if they could market it properly and if it manages decent reviews then it won't be the bonb people think it will be.
  6. No need of luck. It has already done much better than most thought including me. Going up against a highly commercial family friendly movie starring THE jodi with young dashing actors of today and Rohit shetty directing, one would have thought it would steamroll BM and easily do 230+ crores. But it will have a hard time even doing 150 crores. Starwars will further kill its chances of developing legs as wom is extremely mixed.
  7. So glad Dilwale disappointed. The movie was crap. Only Varun Sharma (not dhawan) who plays dhawan's best bud is the highlight of the film. And that emotional bit with srk+varun was decent. Srk+kajol jodi was the worst display of the jodi put on celluloid. It is arguably one of Rohit's weakest films to date. Srk has been doing these type of films for far too long. So glad we are getting Fan and Raees next year. Will do MAX 150 crores in India.
  8. If they continue marketing it as well as they have so far and the movie delivers critically as well, then 100+ million opening weekend won't shock me. And yes I know it is R rated and stars box office poison Ryan Reynolds. But this is his last chance to get a breakout hit and become someone who is recognised for years for this role.
  9. Avatar's worldwide record is going down for sure. James Cameron will have to sign a third pact with the devil. Ps: Avatar 2 will be my most anticipated movie of the year in which it releases.
  10. Yep. It is gonna do minimum 115 on Saturday and 100 on Sunday. 135+115 +100 = 350 All the rules that so called boxoffice pundits have made over years will be proven wrong. It won't be as frontloaded as people think. Hype, positivity, buzz is unprecedented. It's a movie that will play like Avatar, but end up way over that domestically.
  11. Amazing. Star wars has a very good shot at breaking the domestic total and worldwide total. Looking like a 360+ million opening weekend. Even with only a multiplier of 2 it will do 720 million domestically.
  12. To me it appears that both new openers had disappointing opening. A few days ago i said SW wont do much, but I get the feeling that the last 2 weeks of insane Star Wars global marketing, hype, positivity & buzz has carried over to India and people are saving their money for that. I know I am. Don't be surprised if it breaks some records next weekend. Business in South India will be HUGE.
  13. Frankly, the vfx and action in this movie looks way more appealing to me than some other fx extravaganzas we are getting in that january-march period. Jan-March Deadpool Gods of Egypt London has fallen BvS Apr-Jun The jungle book CA:CW Xmen :A Tmnt 2 Warcraft ID:R July-Sept Tarzan ST:B Bourne 4 Suicide squad Ben hur Pete's dragon Spectral Magnificent 7 Oct-Dec Gambit A monster calls Underworld 5 Dr strange The great wall Fantastic beasts SW: Rogue one Assassins creed These are my most anticipated movies. Most likely will watch them in theatre unless reviews are absolutely atrocious (<20%) Note: I enjoy watching animated movies, dramas, comedies, Oscar bait flicks but not in the theatre unless the gf insists
  14. Wowzers! That sounds like a fun journey except selling off the movie that became blockbuster. That's real bad luck. So are you still producing movies? I feel so our of place. Didn't know Hollywood films released in the 70s and 80s in India. I thought it was 1991 reforms that made it easier for Hollywood to release more and more films in India due to entry of multiplexes and fairly decent theatres. I remember my first Star Wars experience was Return of the Jedi in Mayfair theatre in Lucknow, U.P. This was I believe in 1996 or 1997 when they re-released all 3 films. My first hollywood movie in theatre was Dragonheart in Novelty cinema, Lucknow. Getting nostalgic..
  15. Trailer 1. I can't get enough of scrat. Wonder why they never made a solo movie on him.
  16. Wow didn't know that. Doesn't matter though. The franchise isn't as popular in India as other big franchises. Revenge of sith grossed under 1 million. Btw you are one old man.
  17. Ya, that's why Nolan's BATMAN movies, Spiderman movies, MCU movies, HP movies, Avatar, gravity, life of pi, inception, interstellar, the martian etc were huge hits at the Indian boxoffice. America, China and many other countries turn Transformers movies into giant hits, so do they have poor taste as well?
  18. Production values are obviously cheaper than before, but it is funny and I guess will be entertaining. I realized that both teaser trailers released by Paramount recently for their 2016 summer tentpoles focus on FUN. That shot in the end when Kirk and White female alien teleport from sky to hard ground and moan "ahh...ahhh..hh" and then Kirk says "OK..let's never do that again" sounded like a sex joke!!! :??
