Jurassic World and Inside Out have sucked all the oxygen out of the market. People are watching these movies again and again due to which other movies have no chance of doing well. Only 2 upcoming movies will do well - Minions (duh) and Antman (marvel brand + great reviews + original movie) In June the combo of JW & IO hurt Ted2, TG and MM2. In July the combo of Minions & AM (I expect both to have a sizeable opening...minimum 85m each..have a feeling one is gonna outperform on opening weekend) will hurt other movies releasing against them and after. Oh and JW & IO will still be posting good numbers. Rest of them, I am afraid, will suffer badly because people only have so much money to spend at the movies. Minimum each movie has to gross to not be considered a disappointment or flop 1. Minions - 300 3. Antman - 180 4. Train wreck - 80 5. Pixels - 150 6. Paper towns - 70 7. Southpaw - 50 8. Mission Impossible - 200 9. Vacation - 80 10. Fantastic Four - 100 11. Ricki and Flash - 40 12. Shaun the sheep - 30 13. The gift - 30 14. Straight from Compton - 70 15. Man from Uncle - 80 16. Agent47 - 40 17. American Ultra - 40 18. Masterminds - 40 If I have missed the rest then that means I am not aware of them

Ouch. That's gotta hurt. I think Simmons is re-evaluating as to what type of movies he wants to be part of. I remember him saying that the script for terminator Genisys is really smart... Keaton is having a career resurgence which I am sure he would like to maintain by being part of movies that have a chance of being decent. It is pretty telling though when two veterans drop out together...the script must be in bad shape and they probably have other things they would like to be part of

If the internet was as widely popular as it is today, James Cameron would be facing similar heat or worse as Josh Trank.

One of them should move to August 14. I know Brothers releases on that weekend, but independence day might help the opening collections...Brothers is being released by Fox Star Studios so they wont move F4 to that spot..I think MI would actually be better suited for July 31st even with Drishyam scheduled...how much gross/net MI4 did in India?

I am sorry, but SPY's opening weekend sucks. It was tracking at 40-45 million. I mean Jason Statham coming off Furious 7 & mellisa in summer comedy/action with months of screenings to spread the word, should have resulted in at least 35 million. No excuses. I can't see a franchise unless it has great legs and ends up with 115+ million domestically. But doing less than Bridesmaid and The Heat..will hurt since it is Paul Feig's best and most expensive movie. maketing sucked. Fox needs to fire their marketing department. Now they have Paper Towns, Fantastic Four and Hitman for the summer....none of them have been marketed properly especially their superhero/CBM.

Prepare to be surprised. I feel Fox has a horrible marketing team. They just don't know how to open their movies anymore. A lot of their films have a meh-good opening weekend, but nothing shocking. And that too after getting all the praise and love...imagine if Spy sucked..could have easily done sub 25 million..to be fair their movies do tend to have legs..MR, Kingsman..and maybe Spy too..but all had openings in the 30s. Only Fault in our stars had a truly awesome opening day, but then petered out. Can't blame..it was based on a very popular book from a popular writer so was always going to be front loaded.
