    This weekend will tell us if Scarlett really has any drawing power or Lucy just came out at the right time. Back when it released there was lot of talk for a Black Widow solo movie. That movie filled the void.

    I think I figured out what the story is...this will be HATED by families if any one decides to take their kids to this. Weird tonal shift. It's all over the place. Trying to be sappy edgy and what not. Colin Treverrow is overrated and boring filmmaker.

    The director will become the next big thing in hollywood after this movie does MASSIVE numbers worldwide. If reviews turn out to be solid it could end up outcrossing Get Out. 200+ DOM and 400+ ww won't shock me.

    Enjoy. I like what I see, but it's going to BOMB everywhere. These leads.....Luc besson fucked up. 200+M budget and he casts these two.

    I am hearing terrible things about Dark Tower...getting two great stars in one movie...a tentpole one..has never lead to anything worth the wait...but this one had a foreign director directing his 1st hollywood movie....

    Well it has managed to match Kong 2005 1st Intl weekend. Here is hoping with good wom and china+japan combo it will gross 380+ os and 170+ dom = 550+

    they remind me of the Fox of early-mid 2000s...opening most of their big movies above tracking because of excellent marketing. Their tentpoles movies were mostly sub-par just like current WB tentpoles barring a few (legendary is responsible for Kong not sucking) but boy the trailers were always loaded with money shots to get butt in the seats.

    Get Out is the story of the year. Could do 200+M domestic!

    Happy for Kong's domestic performance. Above expectations and beating Jackson's Kong opening weekend. Now will it be able to beat the total domestic? I hope so, but 180+ would be solid. What is problematic is its overseas performance so far...I was expecting 90-110 OW minus China and Japan, but it is being estimated to gross between 65-75 according to deadline.

    This looks like all kinds of awesome. Too bad it really won't do all that well even if it gets the greatest reviews of all time because the general public simply doesn't care for Edgar's films. Ex: Scott Pilgrim. So much buzz and all...bombed horribly.

    frankly poor opening in international markets. I believe 2005 Kong opened to 80+ in its 1st weekend in overseas markets without china and japan.

    that's really bad for Logan. Xmen movies simply don't appeal to wider audience. They open big and drop big. Only Deadpool managed something special.
