I find it baffling that most studios find it so hard to make these movies. Can they not learn anything from marvel/disney?

What's the point of attaching to Ass Creed? The movie has bombed in North America and will bomb in other countries too. The trailer won't get enough viewings in the theater.

Legendary wants a franchise out of this. Remember CHINA owns legendary, so they will have their say. Dennis is brilliant, but until now he wasn't involved with a movie that's supposed to launch a franchise. BR2 is an independent art house big budget R rated sequel, but that's all. There is no pressure there to make a franchise out of it. Although I am sure deep down the producers would love it to become one. With DUNE, the pressure will be on to deliver an amazing film that spawns a successful new franchise.

Dammit. If he is so much into sci-fi please give him a Star wars gig...that would be something. I know he likes moody dark stuff with not much showy stuff and Dune fits that category, but common...stretch yourself. Go full commercial with some big franchise like Star Wars. Frankly, I doubt Legendary will let him do things his way. They would want a more commerically appealing movie that launches a franchise and Dennis movies are far from that.

I said some time back that Tom Rothman had found out about Assassin's Creed. That's why this movie became TBD. Frankly, no one will have the guts to greenlit a video game based movie after Assassin's Creed, which had an A list actor leading the movie and spearheading the movie as a producer. Warcraft had B-C level talents...but this has oscar nominated or winners..LOOOL You know who could make a fun Uncharted movie...Peter Berg. The Rundown is kinda like that..a fun jungle action adventure movie. But the movie will go over budget with him at the helm. I say Hollywood should stop with all these video game adapations. If they really want to keep trying then start with HALO in secrecy with a couple of really good actors and an A list actor. Never reveal who is playing Masterchief until the movie hits by demanding all the critics, trades and bloggers to shut their mouths till after the opening weekend. But they have to knock this out of the park, which I think it can be done. A hardcore PG-13 sci-fi action HALO with some horror elements and good funny one-liner moments would be brilliant. The production values need to be very high and it should have an adrenaline feeling like the 3rd act of Rogue One.

Fox and video game adaptations don't go together. They try hard but always fail both commerically and critically. Although I kinda dug the Timothy Olphant Hitman. I had been saying for the past 3 months that this movie is extremely boring and everything feels so meh. The reviews say exactly that.

EPIC. Starting to think that only one half of John Wick director is actually good. Maybe fox got duped into thinking that their guy is good at action/stunts but what if JW2 guy is actually responsible for the awesomeness that was John Wick?!! Ever thought about it.. I would have been more comfortable if both had were on board for Deadpool 2.

OMG....Blade Runner was boxoffice bomb..didn't know that. A sequel to a 35 year old film that bombed...frankly it being a good movie and doing 300 WW would be a great achievement. Hopefully, after this he will be offered STAR WARS. Now.....that's going to be something....
