  1. I don't agree with that. Characters missing from action is something inherent to the superhero genre. It's like asking why Wonder Woman wasn't in Metropolis during Man of Steel.
  2. I wouldn't call it a plot hole, but I found really weird how aliens that could clearly travel across the entire galaxy in hours would need and/or desire some FTL tech. I assumed it would be even faster than the one they got, but still...
  3. I wouldn't go as far as to say I began to get excited in any moment in the film (except the credit scenes), but the final battle, that is, the moment from the missiles are launched until when the ships flee, I felt that there was something there. It wasn't the scene that I was seeing, but maybe something cool could have happened.
  4. What you guys thought of the action scenes? I didn't care for any single one and I'm afraid I'm being too cynic and demanding.
  5. So much for that imminent superhero fatigue... do people still talk about that?
  6. Indeed. I'd love to see her in an action movie again. If EoT sequels happens then that's it. But a Star Wars film could also happen.
  7. My impression is that she is very much ok with the amount of work she chooses. Which is a shame in a sense. I think we will probably go a whole year without seeing her working again.
  8. This makes me wonder, when does a movie box office is "locked"? I mean, was there anything in MPR that could be changed and would make a huge difference in the Box Office?
  9. Just watched it. Really surprised how much I liked the first half, the first two set pieces were beautiful. The second half however... Mary Poppins just kind of drifts away and she was the best thing about the movie up until that point. Although I would probably say that regardless. Anyway. Blunt's next film is Jungle Cruise which will not come out until 2020. What Tom Cruise and Doug Liman up to? Time for that sequel nobody asked for but which must make thing right. (talking about box office)
  10. It's quite funny how I see a multitude of positive reviews and think "it might be ok". Then I see one negative and think "it's over". Anyway. What is the prediction from early impressions reviews specialists?
  11. Watched it today. Really good, I was expecting long segments of family drama but the pace was spot on. Most scenes felt they were as long as they needed. Not the launch of the Saturn V though, the film should had had 1 more hour just for that. I missed more Buzz Aldrin. For most of the movie I didn't even know who was playing him. Now let's put someone on Mars already, I want to watch that on Youtube.
  12. Ok let me take this opportunity to ask a question. From 0 to 10, how well did you guys think this movie did at the BO?
  13. So, I just want to leave something here that might have been obvious for sometime but only recently struck me. It's impossible to talk about Justice League in a Avengers thread without being a troll. You simply can't do it. The difference in quality is so astronomical that the basic fact of comparing both works is offensive and obnoxious, you can't put Justice League and Infinity War in the same sentence without creating understones of troll-ness and dishonesty. It really is quite sad in some ways. Of course, this has to do with more than the two movies. Youhave to consider the whole context of the two cinematic universes.
  14. Well, at least one person will see the film because of Blunt. But what I take from your statement is that you see no consequences of AQP success in Mary Poppins?
  15. I wonder out of ignorance, would Disney be happy for AQP's success? I mean, looking at Mary Poppins. Emily Blunt lacked this big hit (ignoring Devil Wears Prada). Edge of Tomorrow should have been that but alas people prefered to watch other films.
  16. As someone who doesn't follow Box Offices much, I try to understand if the numbers are good or bad from the reactions here. It's quite fun I'd say. And by the way, I'm assuming this is a good one.
  17. I'd add "Sunshine Cleaning" there as well. "The Girl on the Train" was a great role to play, but the film didn't turn out well. And there are other films that I quite enjoy like "The Adjustment Bureau", "Salmon Fishing in the Yemen" and "Wind Chill". This last one actually makes a "eternal recurrence trilogy" alongside Looper and Edge of Tomorrow.
