I wouldn't go as far as to say I began to get excited in any moment in the film (except the credit scenes), but the final battle, that is, the moment from the missiles are launched until when the ships flee, I felt that there was something there. It wasn't the scene that I was seeing, but maybe something cool could have happened.

Tuesday #s (Aquaman, Poppins, Bumble)
SofNascimento replied to spatulashack's topic in Numbers and Data
So much for that imminent superhero fatigue... do people still talk about that? -
Just watched it. Really surprised how much I liked the first half, the first two set pieces were beautiful. The second half however... Mary Poppins just kind of drifts away and she was the best thing about the movie up until that point. Although I would probably say that regardless. Anyway. Blunt's next film is Jungle Cruise which will not come out until 2020. What Tom Cruise and Doug Liman up to? Time for that sequel nobody asked for but which must make thing right. (talking about box office)

I missed that nom as well.

Watched it today. Really good, I was expecting long segments of family drama but the pace was spot on. Most scenes felt they were as long as they needed. Not the launch of the Saturn V though, the film should had had 1 more hour just for that. I missed more Buzz Aldrin. For most of the movie I didn't even know who was playing him. Now let's put someone on Mars already, I want to watch that on Youtube.

So, I just want to leave something here that might have been obvious for sometime but only recently struck me. It's impossible to talk about Justice League in a Avengers thread without being a troll. You simply can't do it. The difference in quality is so astronomical that the basic fact of comparing both works is offensive and obnoxious, you can't put Justice League and Infinity War in the same sentence without creating understones of troll-ness and dishonesty. It really is quite sad in some ways. Of course, this has to do with more than the two movies. Youhave to consider the whole context of the two cinematic universes.

As someone who doesn't follow Box Offices much, I try to understand if the numbers are good or bad from the reactions here. It's quite fun I'd say. And by the way, I'm assuming this is a good one.

I'd add "Sunshine Cleaning" there as well. "The Girl on the Train" was a great role to play, but the film didn't turn out well. And there are other films that I quite enjoy like "The Adjustment Bureau", "Salmon Fishing in the Yemen" and "Wind Chill". This last one actually makes a "eternal recurrence trilogy" alongside Looper and Edge of Tomorrow.
