  1. Yes, but Armor Wars has been continuously pushed back/pushed around...still no firm date, right? No guarantees anywhere, and indeed I am surprised there's not quicker movement on a Shang-Chi sequel... But with Cretton hired for Kang, Feige/Marvel are clearly prioritizing the Avengers 2-parter for business reasons ahead of Shang-Chi. But yes, I wouldn't be surprised to see Namor show up again sooner than people think, and possibly in a solo project. At least...that's what I would do. There is obviously a huge Latino audience/demographic to tap into.
  2. Feige and Co. have been known to flip around things before... I don't think there's any need to stick to such rigid planning if they have momentum for something/someone that has shown up. They were probably waiting to see how he was received...but I wouldn't be surprised at all if we hear an announcement in the Trades before the end of the year of a project brewing, centered around Namor...which could very well be produced and released within 2-3 years.
  3. As I've said, you should prepare for Fast X to be the last... the exploding budget only adds to this likelihood. Look up the last time a 2-parter was mentioned by Vin...it's been a loooong time.
  4. Congrats, that comment - which I very much agree with - takes you off of my ignore list! 😁
  5. Unless this movie does $1.5-$2billies worldwide, there won't be any Fast XI. There wasn't going to be ever since Fast 9 underperformed. Fast X will be it...and it's better that way. 😁
  6. Perhaps for opening weekend, but I'll bet anyone who misses it that weekend for those reasons will come out to see it eventually, anyway...thus adding to its longevity.
  7. Is J.K. Rowling’s ‘Fantastic Beasts’ Franchise Dead at Warner Bros? https://variety.com/2022/film/news/fantastic-beasts-fourth-fifth-movies-franchise-harry-potter-jk-rowling-1235432523/ Biggest non-surprise of the year, of course... Obviously Zassy would like nothing more than a pure Potter return...
  8. Who says they have to work together? 😁 There are bands that make albums these days on different continents, sometimes they never step into the same studio together... I could see Rowling taking a paycheck and agreeing to sit back. But they obviously need these folks on screen if they ever want to do this again. I'm sure Warners will continue trying every which way to make it happen... but obviously they will be pursuing *something* else in the Potterverse regardless.
  9. Ralph Fiennes Would Play ‘Harry Potter’ Villain Again: ‘No Question About It’ https://variety.com/2022/film/news/ralph-fiennes-harry-potter-voldemort-harry-potter-1235433184/ Plus...he defends Rowling. The bandwagon of buzz continues to populate...
  10. At DC, which is now being led by filmmaker James Gunn and producer Peter Safran, Zaslav said that the pair are “coming close to the end” of finishing a bible for DC (an entertainment term for a document roadmap that outlines key characters and plot points). “I think over the next few years, you’re going to see a lot of growth and opportunity around DC, there’s not going to be four Batmans,” Zaslav said. “And so part of our strategy is drive the hell out of DC, which James and Peter are going to do. I think they’ve thrilled the fans. I think they’re going to thrill you over a period of time.” Don't know exactly what Zasssy means by this... 🤣 ...But if he deletes ALL of Michael Keaton's appearances...I will protest, myself!! https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/david-zaslav-warner-bros-discovery-james-gunn-dc-movies-roadmap-1235262032/
  11. I don't know about you dudes and dudettes but I'm looking ahead to this coming weekend (as I wont' have time to see WF myself until at least this weekend) and I'm already seeing *plenty* half and 3/4 full evening screenings booked up at a few of my local multiplexes. The weeknights are even filling up. I see this having some staying power...
  12. Only a Sith deals in absolutes. 😁 You act as if there have never been surprising comebacks happen in Hollywood before... I'd say this is 60/40 more likely to happen than not...but *obviously* Zaslav is going to keep trying to get the old gang back together... Lots of money and one good PR statement from all parties involved can solve a whooooole lot of ill-will.
  13. You know it as well as I do... an MCU joint. Marvel still doesn't have a director for "Fantastic Four," right?? 😁
  14. This is not officially announced, either... I don't know where dudalb is getting this stuff...
  15. Isn't this a spoiler??? I didn't know that they were in this. Was this publicly announced ahead of time?
  16. It's given more nuance than that through Lucious Fox, which ZeeSoh points out below...but it's just about the last time anyone in a Hollywood movie cared about this issue...because most of us have since given in with the advent of all-surveilling IPhones, etc. That was the original plan. Goyer did an interview with Premiere magazine (a great French/American film magazine that used to exist...) during Batman Begins' release... in a quote that would never even get close to being said these days due to studio/franchise "trade secrets" about sequels... Goyer basically revealed the whole thing, that Joker would get arrested by the end of Film 2, and he would be the one who would scar Dent in the courtroom when he's on trial in Film 3. “The next one would have Batman enlisting the aid of Gordon and [Harvey] Dent [aka Two-Face] in bringing down the Joker… but not killing him, which is a mistake they made in the [Batman '89].” ... “In the third, the Joker would go on trial, scarring Dent in the process.” Of course for a variety of reasons, that scenario didn't happen...and I still wonder whether Nolan re-organized TDK in post-production (after Ledger's death) and shot the Two-Face finale as a way of closing out everything, if he didn't come back for a third movie. Two-Face has always been my favorite Bat-villain and I *still* don't think they've gotten him quite right in live-action. I still look to the wonderful Batman: The Animated Series episodes (which of course I've been watching this past weekend) for a beautiful and tragic representation of the character...even though that adaptation modifies the character's comic origins, too...
  17. Funny PR people (if that is indeed where this Premiere announcement is coming from)...Sam Worthington not listed on that premiere listing. 😁🤷‍♂️
  18. Why advocate cutting anything? Personally, if I were on the board, I'd vote "no cuts" anymore. If other cultures can't take it, maybe it's time for them to move forward a bit.
  19. No one needs China as long as they continue to cut themselves off from the world. I'm totally an advocate that Disney/Marvel and every other major Hollywood studio need to adjust their budgets more modestly/accordingly to reflect no guarantees in China releases for the foreseeable future.
  20. More multiplex theaters than not in the US (and perhaps globally) are operating *way* below the standards they should be, and people often pay for a sub-standard experience without knowing any better (let alone theater cleanliness, etc.). Any darkness significant enough where you have trouble seeing what's going on is definitely due to the theater, *not* the film -- and you should complain accordingly to your local venue. When I saw "NO TIME TO DIE" at a local (Lie)Max, there were red dots all over the screen noticeable through much of it. I complained and I refuse to go back to that theater until I have some indication they've corrected their presentation...which I really have no way of knowing until being corralled into another experience there, I guess...
