  1. I remember people used to do the same thing for David F. Sandberg but then his Shazam sequel came out and none of them went to support it. I sometimes think, specifically with DC, success and talent is weirdly measured by the Rotten Tomatoes score.
  2. The cast was one of the strengths of the DCEU. Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Henry Cavill, Margot Robbie became A-list movie stars thanks to his movies. And who knows how many other careers would have been skyrocketed if not for WB taking the franchise away from him in order to deliver a box office bomb after another since?
  3. The cut he wanted to release in theaters was 214 minutes (3 hours and 34 minutes). When WB approved the Snyder Cut, he didn't need to shoot any new footage, but he decided to add stuff, like the epilogue and Martian Manhunter, which is something that in my opinion hurts the movie because it looks noticeable different.
  4. Batman Begins didn’t either, it didn’t stop The Dark Knight. Not saying it will happen but who knows. If it’s even better than Fury Road it could happen. People will be starving for a theatrical event.
  5. Sony decided to reboot the franchise in 2016 because Bill Murray refused for decades to make a Ghostbusters 3, so why is he doing these new ones? Have this been addressed?
  6. Nice to see Beekeeper overperforming and getting positive reviews, David Ayer deserved his vindication as well
  7. Aquaman 2 having great reception and Wonka destroying the absolute garbage 2005 remake, I love to see it
  8. I'm becoming kinda skeptical on Superman Legacy. They already announced the new DCU will have 3 shows out before this movie is released (Creature Commandos, Peacemaker 2 and Waller), and it's also been announced that it will set up an Authority spin-off film, with possibly some other projects as well, like the announced Supergirl film. There are way too many signs that audiences are rejecting the idea of committing to franchises that are requiring too much of our time. I have a lot of confidence in James Gunn as a filmmaker and I believe he will make a great Superman film, but I'm afraid the timing is terrible for what he's planning for the DCU.
  9. We DC fans should be allowed to call Aquaman 2 a hit because it’s doing twice as much as people thought it would do. If profitability is what matters than we need to have a conversation about BVS being considered a failure. You can’t have it both ways.
  10. This is just theory and speculation, for me JL opened poorly because it had a terrible marketing campaign, the movie looked progressively worse with each new trailer. We will not agree on the reason JL opened poorly. But we can all look at the numbers and see that MOS, BVS and SS were very profitable at the box office, and had a huge number of ticket sales, which means they also continued to make big profit in the post-theatrical market. These were objectively financial hits for WB.
  11. Man Of Steel, Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad were also highly profitable hits for DC, reviews are irrelevant.
  12. Aquaman was their biggest hit at the global box office and it came out right after Justice League. There was no need for a reboot then, they should have just continued making movies audiences wanted to see, which wasn’t the case with the line up they put out when Walter Hamada took over DC. Prioritizing characters like Shazam and Blue Beetle over Superman and Batman, that’s the mistake they’ve made.
  13. This was actually fine. At worst I think audiences may find it boring, but it's not one of those comic book movie disasters that are so messed up with reshoots and reediting that the final product doesn't make sense narratively and/or tonally, like Suicide Squad, Josstice League or Fantastic Four 2015. There are no ugly-looking CGI sequences like in The Flash either.
  14. What's frustrating is that WB decided to alienate the fans who loved the controversial Snyder films, distanced the DCEU from his films, and yet there was no support for it, the franchise collapsed at the box office, and now the people WB tried so hard to please are celebrating the franchise's demise. It kinda feels like there was this toy that was so precious for a lot of us, that some other kids didn't enjoy, and they decided to destroy it only so everyone would end up miserable without a toy to play with.
  15. I kinda agree with you. The Marvels showed us audiences are rejecting comic book movies in general, it's not just the DCEU. Also, James Gunn has been vocal about Blue Beetle being part of his DCU, and if fans had moved their interest to that new reboot, I don't think Blue Beetle would have had the lowest attended opening ever for a live action DC movie.
  16. The reception to BVS didn’t affect Suicide Squad or Wonder Woman, it wouldn’t conveniently kick in just 3 movies later.
  17. It depends on what you consider Snyderverse. If you want to include the movies he had zero involvement with and that completely bombed at the box office (like Blue Beetle, The Flash, Shazam 2, etc.) than sure, but no Snyder fan defends these movies. The movies that were developed when Snyder was still the "architect of DC" were objectively big at the box office, and I can say for sure that WB and movie theaters are missing those numbers.
