  1. Spider-man is everywhere and it's not out till July. They had a big push right around Endgame's release and I'm seeing food/soda tie-ins everywhere.
  2. How do you mean? Like dummies saying "oh look, all white men" or what?
  3. Looks great...but how on earth are marketing teams still using trailer guy on random occasions?
  4. Those numbers are pretty good. Don't reserve to yourself only reading opinions on this silly forum.
  5. If this person really believes what they're saying, that it's fine if Bond doesn't treat women well but the films themselves should treat them well...then why is this even an issue? They've been treating the female characters pretty damn well since Casino Royale, a movie featuring maybe the best Bond girl ever in Vesper. And the Craig movies have given us the best Moneypenny BY FAR. You can complain about the Russian girl in Quantum of Solace if you want, but that entire movie was underwritten, so it's not exclusive to her.
  6. Thanks for the info. It's always been weird to me cause it all seems so anecdotal, not to mention tedious for those doing the leg work tracking theaters and showtimes, etc.
  7. This thread is so strange to me. Unless it's an OW tracking estimate I have no idea what these numbers mean and why anyone would track anything for individual theaters.
  8. These movies have gotten progressively worse since T2. I actually quite liked T3 (mostly because of that ending), but Salvation was a mixed bag and Genisys a waste of time.
  9. You're probably just not into it....cause that was an expertly cut trailer if we're talking pure editing.
  10. The point is Favreau has never really had a major bomb. Cowboys and Aliens lost money, but it's no John Carter or Warcraft, movies that couldn't even reach "blockbuster" status domestically.
  11. Egerton is good and I liked that they went full musical. It's slightly better than Bohemian Rhapsody, but that movie actually had more energy to its musical sequences. Rocketman is decent but still nothing to write home about. No musical biopic that follows the typical formula (and this one does) will ever again reach greatness I think. Walk the Line was the last one to get away with it in my mind, mostly due to the poignant romance.
  12. This. For those of us who have been following box office for years, it didn't use to be this way in terms of the schedule. There were tentpoles in the summer and around holiday season. In between there were rarely big-budget blockbusters. That was the time for movies like Booksmart or Long Shot to break out or at least do modest business. Now? January through December is riddled with a big release nearly every week.
  13. Between Booksmart and Long Shot I'm beginning to wonder if sleeper hits are even a thing anymore. It's kinda depressing.
  14. Yeah, it looks better than Genisys but that ain't saying much. Pretty crazy they keep making these despite failure after failure.
  15. For those who have seen it...is it better than the trailer? Thought the trailer was pretty laugh-free outside of that ponytail mask gag.
  16. If you're saying that the interviewer would've asked that question if the character were male...I somehow doubt it. But fair point, certainly possible. Regardless of gender politics it's a dumb question.
