I don't think the release date is to blame. They were thinking "counter-programming," something that used to work. But seriously, people, support something besides Disney and superheroes.
People oughta revisit The Hateful Eight. I was a bit mixed on it in 2015, but in 2019 it's downright brilliant. Maybe it's the extended cut on Netflix, but I'd recommend people give it another look.
700 mil is the magic number. If it makes that, it's possible. Then again, Force Awakens didn't. The weighted ballot really ruined the good thing they had going in 2009 and 2010.
Yup. Critics don't have a problem with superheroes. It's silly to suggest that given how many get good reviews. They do have a problem with cliffhanger endings though.
I just glanced at the summer schedule and holy hell is there a glut of horror movies for the rest of the year. Makes sense. Horror's been on a tear so Hollywood took notice and now they're going to run it into the ground. It's every other week if not every week from the looks of it.
You have a point there as I like Feige, although I can't imagine they wouldn't exist. I can't say I know enough about "worst ppl" at Pre-Marvel Disney to speak to your other point.
Just saw it. It's mostly as bad as they say, although there are a couple of good fight scenes and the practical creature FX are pretty neat actually. CGI is a mixed bag and so is Harbour.
It's just a terrible script with shit editing. It's got three or four really big, really cool ideas that would've made for interesting movies all on their own, but instead they're crammed together in a Hellboy movie.
