  1. This is an awful trailer by the way. Subtle as a sledgehammer.
  2. Amsterdam will still be in the race by virtue of that cast. So it'll be Amsterdam, because grown adults can't separate art from artist.
  3. Studios never learn, do they? Marvel has had many, many, many hits with movies that run well over 2 hours...and NOW they get skittish about runtimes?
  4. Fair points. I haven't seen it, but I imagine it's likely the script is still at fault for Love & Thunder. Waititi's an overrated writer. Shang Chi and No Way Home were good movies, and I personally liked Eternals.
  5. Nah, that's not the problem. The problem hasn't been a greater sense of auteurism in the style and tone. The problem has been the scrips, which are still written by committee by writers chosen by Marvel.
  6. This moment in the trailer right here is why I've been expecting this to be bad. How do you let VFX this horrible make it to final cut?
  7. Okay, I see the logic now. By virtue of MCU having a very large fanbase, the OW Cinemascore and early RT user score oughta be very high.
  8. Yeah, the two are not alike at all. Marvel stans will never criticize, Star Wars stans are always criticizing. Except with Rise of Skywalker. They refused to admit how bad it was.
  9. Right, but I'm pretty certain Cinemascore & RT user score diverge all the time. On top of that, both have in the past diverged from the actual box office. As in, a movie with a low-ish Cinemascore has good legs and vice versa.
  10. I think it's been so long since Batman & Robin people have forgotten what it looks like when you lean too heavily into farce/comedy/camp. Thor isn't Ant-Man or Guardians of the Galaxy, he oughta be taken a bit more seriously than what Waititi's been doing.
  11. This is certainly possible. Building up to Young Avengers, Secret Wars, Defenders Part II, and Thunderbolts all at the same time.
  12. Yeah I was expecting much better from her after Shallow. Sounds too much like an 80s ballad without the soul to go with it.
  13. Have to disagree. The motor chase through Malta was well-done, so was everything from the plane eject sequence to the end of Claire swimming away from that giant ostrich thing.
  14. This. RT gets very high and very low quite often, and Metacritic trends more toward the middle. So for this to be in the red...yikes.
  15. It's a blockbuster. The bare minimum I expect is good effects. Frankly, your standards must be low if you don't recognize bad green screen.
