name a movie that didn't star a woman.....it feature heroine doesn't mean it's female-centric, rey wasn't appear on the screen until 10 min later. Screenjunkies even categorised rey as supporting actress when they nominate her as best supporting actress of 2015 It's silly to be open up the definition of female-centric film be so wide, easily making every movie be female-led. Hold the definition in strict sense -
force awakens was never a female-led movie to me, rey was not as centrical as diana and katniss, SW7 was more like ensemble cast.... rogue one, not really an origin story, but indeed is a female-led

Apparently, WW biggest drop to date was its 4th weekend,(excluding 2nd weekend as the opening figure including preview), which it was up against TF5. Hence, i can deduce that, TF5 is a biggest competitor to WW but not SMH!!!< TF5 is not a flop!!!

Apes is like Star trek Beyond of 2017 to me, both are 3rd movie in trilogy, have great reviews and represent non-CBM blockbuster in july of summer, and both tracking about the same OW or total....

TF5 performed quite well today, barely drop from yesterday, any reason for that?

DM3 12.8 with 4535 theater!!! just 13%+ increase from friday!! 4535!!!!! WIDEST RELEASE EVER!! but has been under-performed since last week, its 2nd wasn't impressive either(through still profitable) Universal still keen to add more theaters in its 2nd week from already record breaking 4529 theaters!!!

but the it's hard to make room for 2 original property in the same week......you can hardly find any weekend in which 2 newcomers both opened above $40m, even there was, one of them were animation, like shrek 2/The day after tmr, frozen/HG:CF, BIH6/interstellar It's sad to know that either one of them will flopped, and in this case, valerian is the most likely victim, it's now depend how RT shape their future....

This is even more impressive when you consider that last friday it dropped 40% against DM3, while only drop 30% against SMH!!! I guess the huge crowd bought by SMH has the spillover effect on the others good quality of holdovers.... WW will be remembered as the only CBM that could hold well against its direct same genre of blockbuster in movie history! WW and SMH, most "non-cannibalising" pair of CBM!!

in the mid-week of summer, WW boosted by teenage and family while fuelled by the old lady in the weekend, it's an internal win-win situation!!! WW was so impressive, tthrusday(-26%) week to week drop is lower than the last week(-33%) despite facing a more direct competition , when it was against DM3's preview
