titanic2187 replied to Olive's topic in China At The Box Office
I'm not sure am i interpret it right but it seems that TF5 pacing much more lower than F8, is it true? -
well, i must say, if WW were to release before 2010, it would not replicate such success The female-centric film had not been a successful or remarkable in term of box office, but only after 2010, they are slowly rolled into mainstream The Hunger Game mega success certainly turn that trend. Unexpected Gravity and Frozen phenomenal and oscar-winning performance further cemented it, especially frozen, which exceed the even most optimistic expectation. SW7 and rogue one also help in certain degree. All of these success open up or pave the way for WW, plus aided from RT score

BO Germany/Austria: Deadpool&Wolverine #1
titanic2187 replied to IndustriousAngel's topic in International Box Office
No, they are just decent, france had avatar and titanic both above $140m, but it's almost unheard in france that a superhero movie to gross more than $40m, Cap 3 grossed $23m in france in 2016 and that was the highest grossing superhero movies of the year while moana and rogue one were both approching $40m, even the revenant and ice age 5 made more than cap 3 how can u conclude that as good? -

you couldn't find a film which came from before 2010. -
Seeing American Sniper ranked that high remind me of how surprising it was when American SNiper became huge hit. Not a special-effect or action-humour packed film, just a pure mid-budget drama, but delivered some achievement that not even BvS could did that. Mid-budget drama/comedy are dying in cinema, the huge success of the hangover, blindside, ted, american sniper, my big fat greek wedding, night at the museum, hancock and the list keep go on....are becoming harder and harder to replicate in domestic market

Given that not-so-much China's agenda inside this TF5, at least from trailer, i presume it would'nt increase much from TF4, even if it does, it'll likely wiped out by weaker yuan against greenback -

Germany is known to be a not-so-fancy of CBM movies market, never expect WW would ever be a huge break out here -
By just looking at the thread title, i thought that the mummy is going to make more than the Roaring Currents's $130m!!!
