  1. @Ethan Hunt Thank you for competing with us! It's a real shame our team dissipated so quickly! I'll do what I can to carry the torch of the team's spirit! @Keanu It's gonna be hard to be on different teams, but i wish you the best of luck in the competition! I'm sure we'll be reunited when the teams merge! I'm really grateful that I got so many the votes to stay! Thanks everyone! I promise you guys I'll do well enough to not have it go to waste immediately!
  2. It's do or die time in regards to enticing people who are on the fence about the concept. The film definitely has the potential to be great, but this trailer that's coming tomorrow needs to impress me if I am to remain optimistic about the film's quality. I will say this: whoever chose to position a new trailer in front of Disney's Christopher Robin has some miraculous foresight. (Unless that film is another Pete's Dragon, of course.)
  3. Yeah, he needs to provide arguments instead of plain statements. I wondered why the man was perceived as a bad filmmaker, and now I know.
  4. Something else that I feel should be asked is this: because there's only two people to vote for, will everyone vote for the person they want to stay or the person they want to go? We've been voting for the person we want to go but I'm not sure how it'll be with only two people.
  5. I feel like there's strong cases for both of them, but neither of them would be considered the best out of all the winners. I'm rooting for Isle of Dogs because I think we're due for a winner that is not from Disney or Pixar, as we haven't had one since 2011 when Rango won. That's just me. Maybe Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse is a surprise classic with its animation style and story and all that. We'll see.
  6. $71 Million for Mission: Impossible - Fallout. $18 Million for Teen Titans. (I should've known better, as the cartoon graphics were never going to be that much of a draw.) $2.8 Million for Blindspotting (sweet geez louise, did this one backfire) I will share what I perceive to be a flaw in my predictions: when a wave of hype hits, whether it's caused by good vibes or good reviews, I can get caught up in the moment. And when Box Office Mojo lists their predictions, I say to myself, "If these are official predictions, then pretty much all of the movies will do better than those predictions." Suffice to say, I'm still learning the ropes.
  7. (I definitely got blindsided by this weekend's difficulty... I should've known better about the openers.)
  8. I believe in forgiveness and I think it's awesome to see this. It'd be beautiful for Gunn to be reinstated.
  9. I'm bracing to feel more of the same disgust at studio decisions in the future. The way half of all young writers are writing on sites like Wattpad, decency is soon to be cast aside in favor of more films like Fifty Shades. It really is appalling.
  10. I think The Darkest Minds will be a big time flop. After watching the trailer multiple times, I just don't feel like the factor of importance is there like it was with the Hunger Games trilogy, the first Divergent, and the first Maze Runner. In other words, the story is too by-the-numbers. This'll be another Mortal Instruments.
  11. I write stories for Wattpad too so maybe if I continue to hone in my writing skill, one of my stories could be adapted in a film? Well, none of my stories are fanfiction, so I doubt that'll happen to me. It's crazy that fanfiction is so pervasive on the service that it's referred to directly as a fanfiction website. As an insider, that's definitely only half of it.
  12. SMH. Happy that Warner Bros. was able to do something with the film, but I have to hope this doesn't set a precedent. I want Hollywood to take risks with theatrical releases.
  13. Liv Tyler would be pretty neat. She was great in Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.
  14. My conspiracy theory professor told me and other students that Cruise had gotten out of Scientology but I'm not really sure to be honest.
  15. 1. Eighth Grade 2. Disney's Christopher Robin 3. The Meg 4. Alpha 5. Mile 22 6. Searching 7. BlacKkKlansmen 8. Kin 9. Operation Finale 10. Papillon (2018)
  16. Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again July 24, 5:45 PM, 35-40% full AMC Classic Myrtle Beach 12 Trailers Life Itself Wonder Park Second Act The Spy Who Dumped Me (laughs) The Girl in the Spider's Web Bohemian Rhapsody Crazy Rich Asians (murmurs) First Man The Women of Marwen ("That looks sweet...") Laughter throughout. Clapping and grooving at songs. Applause at the end. As for me, I drifted off into my own thoughts about two-thirds through, but I appreciated the craftmanship and found the ending powerful to a degree.
  17. This September month is absolutely crazy with how many intriguing films are debuting! It was tough to choose my most anticipated of the month; would it be eccentric, hyper-violent new Predator film? Something funny like Night School? A family film with potential for greatness like The House With A Clock in its Walls or Smallfoot? One of three faith-based films? Or an indie like The Old Man & the Gun? In the end, I chose Life Itself. I'm a huge fan of This Is Us and this film seems equally as great! Plus, the ensemble of actors makes it sound like it'll be worthwhile!
  18. @Asyulus It's sad that the Darkest Minds had to vote another team member off, but I thank you for playing the game with us! See you on the other side! That's really sweet! I don't know about anyone else, but I wanna see this bromance/showmance blossom! (As for me, I'm getting tired of having to vote for team members. So I'm gonna step up my game. The gloves are coming off and the claws are coming out. Darkest Minds, let's turn this game around!)
  19. I wanna say that I enjoy reading the lines from @Claire of Themyscira's character. There's really unique character traits there, even if there is a little profanity. I think @Spagheditary is doing a great job with all the character interactions so far!
