  1. it's not impossible. Avengers and Age of Ultron made just under 3 Billion WW when combined.
  2. Hold on, are you saying MBFGW2 isn't strong competition?
  3. I have choice words for New 52 JL. And he's more a core member than Cyborg.
  4. And yet, no Martian Manhunter.
  5. I didn't say it wasn't a big blockbuster. I'm saying that Batman and Superman are a big blockbuster, period. No need for firsts, seconds, thirds. Those two on screen together should be like printing money, no matter how many times we've seen it before. with that in mind, i don't see a need to have a "solo" movie of the two, and then a JL movie, when you can lead with JL, follow up with a few of the lesser knowns, hopefully getting a boost of JL. Then you do you B&S movie. It'd still be big, it'll still be an Event. but I don't think FIRST is necessary for it to be either of those.
  6. Meh. In my mind, you can do a World's Finest movie later, and still have a great pile of cash. You don't need "For the first time" to sell Batman and Superman in a movie together. And after a World's Finest, you can do that BvS movie, where you can see the two really drag it out and see who'd really win in a fight. I'm honestly don't think it's that big of an event, the first time together on screen.
  7. I don't often present ideas that make the best monetary, or business sense. Mostly because business sense is not something I have. I tend to think more on ideas I find interesting. When I say JL first, I meant, before MoS, before any of the DC shared universe movies. You introduce this universe with the JL. It would have, in my mind, been the most interesting thing to do. But that is my opinion.
  8. I'm still of the opinion that DC should have been really ballsy, and the first movie on the slate should have been Justice League. Batman/Superman are front and center of the film, the audience doesn't need a reason to like them, they already do. Use them to do the 5 minute dump on the other members. you show the team forming, you have the second act with some conflict that we get to see how they all visually look with their powers, but aren't cohesive team. Then they fight off a bad guy for the final act. Because Superman and Batman are so well known you don't need solo movies for them, to get buzz from the audience. This brings another thought I'd love to reasearch. How many people's first MCU film was the Avengers. I know box office it out sold everything else, but how many people watched the other movies at home before Avengers to "prep" for it, or just went in and saw it blind.
  9. Having read a good chunk of the last 30 to 40 pages...WTF happened here. From jobs on sets to BVS debates to Christian/Atheist film making. In so many ways I've fallen in love with this board. (And Helen Mirran) may you never leave me. I've also learned Tele is almost always right, and he has the power to smote me if he so chooses. But now I sleep. (I really shouldn't post when I'm falling asleep.)
  10. Has anyone besides Napoleon called this an Art Film? And I'm sorry, but a BvS SHOULDN'T have been a risky film. It should have sailed in, cleaned the money and walked off. It's not good that it's dropped this hard on Friday.
  11. Only if they really wanted a few more ticks on record charts. Which frankly isn't worth it at this stage. They have top DOM, that's what most people will talk about.
  12. I'm thinking a 60Mish weekend, give or take 1M. 380-390 long run, maybe finger's width of 400.
  13. This is why I put in first impressions on Monday...I forget what day it is, and Friday rolls along without my brain realizing it. Well, I can miss a week.
  14. Well, I'm glad you enjoyed him.
  15. Didn't he basically retire?
  16. I read that after I posted. I'll have to wait a few weeks, but I'll probably get one. Just wait for a part of the month where all my bills aren't due.
  17. I'll have to look into that. My finances are in flux a lot, so I try to stay away from auto-payments for the time being, so I can avoid being hit with fees from the bank.
  18. I'm just a fan of long odds. (why I'm a terrible gambler) Plus, already gave 10 bucks, and got no problem giving 10 more.
  19. And never were going to see. Did you think Lucas was going to adapt those stories if he had made SW7?
  20. This sounds fun. I'll go in for it. Didn't realize there was a donate button.
  21. I'm sorry, but I can't take Terrio's word that JL will be lighter. DC wants darker superhero movies. Everything they've showed us has been dark. Even what I've seen of Suicide Squad and WW look dark. So, I find it hard to believe JL will be much lighter.
  22. Hard to say. I guess it depends if WW or Suicide Squad take a massive hit from bad press from BvS. Even then, it'd be far too late to change JL, but you might save JL part 2. If this movie gets the headline "BvS Under Deadpool" there might change, just because that isn't an appealing headline. In much the way AoU is a disappointment, BvS may look like one in those conditions. But again, that's just colorful speculation.
  23. I had skimmed things, and thought Jessie was responding to a different Alfred post, which is why I commented. It was my confusion, so I should apologize. And yes, this is still looking to be profitable for WB. So, it's a win for them.
  24. Well, I certainly got turned around in there somewhere. I apologize.
