  1. Get Out. It came from no where, and did monster business. And with less theaters, opening below every one of those movies, and it's widest was below everyone on this list's opening, outside Split. This is a movie that had less than 5M budget, with a first time director, known for his comedic work. It punched above it's weight class in so many ways, and the fact that it's 16th highest grossing movie of the year is fucking amazing. I thought other films may have been more surprising, just not in a positive way.

  3. Donnie Darko has been on one of those cult hits that I didn't watch, that's on a list that i'll talk about watching, but never will.
  4. I think you've missed my point. That just because they're making more money now, doesn't mean Hollywood just started caring about making sequels. The "new" thing is that audiences are going to go see them more. Again, half the movies made in 1981 top 10 had sequels, made in that decade. Your problem isn't with studios making sequels, it's with audiences wanting sequels.
  5. Sequels/Remakes. This is also misleading statistic. All it says is that the highest grossing films have been sequels/remakes, not that studios haven't always cared about sequels. The fact that most of the movies in the top 1981/1991 had sequels. Hollywood has always loved sequels, this isn't some new phenomenon, they've been churning out sequels for a century now. Also, if Father of the Bride is a "sequel" so is LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring. (Also can argue that Beauty and the Beast, Silence of the Lambs, Robin Hood, and Addams family, are sequels, by that lists logic.)
  6. having not seen the video... But seriously, that just makes it comical, and he's trying to claim it was a serious PSA about Suicide? It's like Kevin Spacey saying "Don't look at me touching young Men, Cause I'm gay" kind of BS statement.
  7. So, Brief cursory look at this Logan Paul fucker. He legit filmed a dead body? someone who killed themselves, and put it on youtube? And he expected people not to be pissed at him?
  8. Another take Snyder made Watchmen perfectly. Watchmen was just shitty source material.
  9. JL Superman not comic book accurate. BVS supermam is comic book accurate. Things said by people who have only read the comics from those "top five comics that superman kills" lists.
  10. One, yay i was quoted. Two, I stand by my poorly worded comments.
  11. Yes, I've read through that. I still leaning 50-60% (leaning closer to 60%).
  12. 2006 hasn't been the best basis, nothing really has.
  13. I can say that of the Cameron films I've seen, front to back in one sitting, Terminator 2 is his strongest, with Terminator being a distant second. I've seen no other Cameron films.
  14. *shrug* I mean, sure if I could have seen it in fancy Imax 3D in 2009 I might be interested, but bits and pieces I've seen here and there look like a supremely uninteresting film.
