  1. Yea it’s def higher than what I would have thought. I won’t get my hopes up as buzz does feel muted right now but if it does those numbers I’ll be really happy
  2. I figured Doolittle was going to bomb. It’s budget was way too high. But I’m surprised/happy that Bad Boys appears to be tracking well! At least this January won’t completely suck after all.
  3. Imagine being this big of a dick over an Adam Sandler movie.
  4. That would be very very impressive for Bad Boys!
  5. No problem! I’m not 100% sure if it’ll work as I haven tried it yet. I was buying tickets from the box office today and the employee told me AMC implemented the change within the last month. It would def make life that much easier when getting seats!
  6. @cdsacken not sure if you knew this but you can purchase the AMC black tickets online now. Or so an AMC employee just told me. You type in the code that you’re given as if it were a gift card.
  7. I don’t know what you’re apologizing for. Even I don’t care for this anymore I’ve only posted in that thread recently because I wanted to state my disappointment in Paramount’s handling of their only female directed film of the year
  8. If WW84 does $250M then that would be horrible for a CBM sequel that did over $400M. Do I expect a drop off? I wouldn’t be surprised if it had a similar domestic drop as say Deadpool 2 but that wouldn’t be horrible either. I’m not expecting that personally but if it did say $380M, that wouldn’t be horrible. Jumanji isn’t a CBM franchise nor is it an animation film. So a drop off was expected. In fact, I’m pretty sure most of the discussion leading up to its release was about how much it would drop by. Star Wars is being criticized because it’s a franchise that everyone expects more from at the box office. It’s box office numbers keep declining with each film that gets released. And not by a little which no one would say anything about BUT by a lot. The decline has been so steep, that questions about where does Star Wars go from here have begun. And they are legitimate questions as Disney bought this franchise for $4B and not even 5 years since the release of TFA the franchise is going in the complete opposite direction. And the weaker Star Wars movies get at the BO, the more likely studios will decide to just open up against them regardless of their release date. Star Wars underperforming brings up a bunch of questions that no one has answers for yet. With Jumanji, Sony didn’t invest billions and billions of dollars into it. They’ll make a third one and then close the books on the “franchise.” Until they decide to reboot it 10-15 years from now. If they even decide to do that. But the bottom line is that Sony struck gold with the first Jumanji starring The Rock and now they’re milking it. But once the cow runs dry, they’ll be fine.
  9. It’s not playing at that theater. It’s actually only playing at one theater by me with one show time left for the day. That showtime has sold 5 tickets.
  10. Jumanji is pretty much sold out at my theater. Uncut Gems is doing really well by me. Nothing sold out yet but most shows are 80% full which is good imo Little Women is doing decently but it’s problem is that it’s in the smallest screen at my theater. Bombshell and CATs are both BOMBING.
  11. I always laughed at the Disney buying critics conspiracy theories. But now we’ve moved onto Disney buying audience ratings on Fandango? People truly have way too much time on their hands.
  12. Because a movie making $850M doesn’t mean it’s NOT a hit. That’s why it shouldn’t be the bar/standard for why a movie is a hit. I mean going by that standard, then the majority of MCU movies aren’t a big hit. And I don’t think anyone would say that with a straight face. So I don’t know why that’s the bar for HP movies need to be a big hit.
  13. I keep seeing posts about if Harry Potter had this market or was released today more of its movies would reach $1B at the box office. HP doesn’t even need any of its films to reach $1B at the box office. All of the films did over $800M....over a decade ago with one almost being 2 decades ago. There’s no need to try and make its numbers better than they are to appease a certain troll. It’s an extremely successful franchise with the numbers it has as they are. If $1B for a movie is suddenly the standard as to whether a franchise movie is huge/successful than the majority of franchise films are failures. Which we all know isn’t the case.
  14. There’s no need to adjust for any markets one way or the other to know that Harry Potter is a huge brand and its movies were huge.
  15. Imagine using MCU, Batman, Starwars and James Bond as examples to try and claim Harry Potter isn’t huge. It’s almost as if there can be more than one huge property at a time. You don’t have to like HP. But to act like it isn’t huge is being in denial or being a straight up hater...a term I dislike to use but when the stats and numbers are all there to prove an IP is huge and you’re still claiming it isn’t, I don’t know what else to refer to you as.
  16. I don’t know. But I’ll never forget the users @GraceRandolph who would always post her videos and say “The queen has spoken.”
  17. Kathleen Kennedy is going to get the majority of the blame but Bob Iger should be shouldering some of it as well. I don’t know who informed him that folks want a Star Wars film every other year based on the same trilogy but whoever gave him that info was mistaken.
