  1. In order for it to finish ahead of Deadpool, it can't collapse. After its opening weekend (3 day), Deadpool earned $220M and counting. So it's had very good legs. BvS has a $34M advantage from its opening weekend and after this weekend it'll have already lost $5M of that. And that's without any competition. The question is how will BvS fare when other competitive movies start coming out, if it's already dropping against no competition. It needs to earn its money now because I don't think it'll be earning much once the second week of April hits.
  2. All movies actually had good drops. Zootopia, Cloverfield, Deadpool all had good drops. Zootopia's is on another level though. Like hot damn. I wonder how it would have fared in terms of its domestic gross had it opened on Valentine's Day instead of say a movie like Deadpool. With the kind of drops its having, I wouldn't be shocked at $400M domestically had it opened then. I guess everyone went to see all the movies that have already been out instead of the new movies that just came out this weekend. Except for BvS. Even MBFGW2 had a good hold...I'll admit I'm shocked by its success. I thought it would be Zoolander 2 2.0.
  3. The Transformers movies. And those movies still aren't good. Nice try though. At least you tried harder than BvS. Thanks for playing. Edit: how could I forget the Fifty Shades of Gray masterpiece. Great movie. Also the critics are currently paying movie goers to go watch Zootopia instead of BvS to prove how "right" they were. It was a part of the contract in which Disney paid the critics to bash BvS.
  4. $420M of which were in the first 3 days. So over the course of the other 7 days (including this weekend) it's made $241M. That second number isn't too impressive imo.
  5. All I'm going to say is that when BvS and CW had the same release date, Disney/Marvel didn't budge and didn't remove the release date. WB did because they knew they wouldn't be able to compete with CW if they kept the same release date. Why would they now, after the movie has been panned critically, received mixed WOM and underperformed at the box office re-release it so it's re-release coincides with when CW comes out?
  6. Zootopia has been out for like 5 weeks. BvS came out last week. Zootopia is having a great run at the BO but when we talk about competition, we are talking about relatively new releases that would take away from a movies box office. I wouldn't call Zootopia competition for BvS. Just that Zootopia is such a good movie, the GA is eating it up.
  7. That would be a waste of money. In 2-3 weeks you're talking about several movies coming out that are actually competition like the Jungle Book and then 2 weeks after that you got Civil War coming out. WB did the smart thing and released this thing all over the world all at once because it was the only way this thing was going to make any money. A re-release is not worth the investment especially when you consider the films that are coming out soon. There's a reason BvS didn't go head to head with CW and WB ultimately moved the release date to BvS.
  8. That's based on th estimated $52M it took this weekend. I think it'll be at $50M if not less which would put it less than $350M domestic if not less than $340M because of the competition coming out. I could see it at GOTG money in the end. This had ZERO competition this weekend and nose dived. Imagine what's going to happen when movies like the Jungle Book come out. I think it'll reach $850M WW after seeing how it's doing in other countries.
  9. Yea the rest of them tried to do TV and failed at that. I think Leighton is headed back to TV actually. Blake is the only one who's actually had a "successful" career after/outside the show and even that is debatable. But hey at least she's still making movies so she still has that going for her.
  10. It's not. But you can't expect WB to let estimates be at $50M or below. Just like they let estimates for OW be at $170M to claim it was their highest opening. And this isn't a knock at WB...a lot of studios do this cause they want the good press to come through.
  11. Yea she was good in The Town too and I enjoyed the Age of Adaline as well...I mean she was the reason why that movie was any good. She's not a great actress but not bad either. I think Gossip Girl ruined her as an actress in terms of reputation because she was paid to just be gorgeous on that show and a lot of people associate her acting talent based on that show.
  12. She was in a movie with Blake Lively a few years ago and she made Blake Lively look like a good actress. I didn't know that was even possible but it happened.
  13. Where are these Saturday numbers? It's either doing really bad or really good and no one wants to break the news.
  14. It made $19M on Friday INT so it's dropped a lot (71%) around the globe and if you go to the INT threads you'll see the drops its having across a lot of countries. The only exceptions are those in Latin America.
  15. My friends Saturday numbers aren't looking too good for tonight. He had pretty good afternoon numbers though but the night has seen a decline. Mind you his theater is in a suburb close to Villanova and Villanova is in the Final Four so people have gone crazy over here about that so don't take it as anything other than that lol
