Deadline posted an update saying $15.5M-$17.5M. So unless they're both in on it.....

Wow. When my friend told me that his theater was expecting to do -73% this weekend I thought his theater was an outlier so we readjusted the numbers...guess his theater was just on track with the real numbers.

I agree about the GA not knowing these characters. Not everyone knows who Aquaman is or who Deadpool is. More people know who The Flash is now because he has his own TV show. Before Deadpool came out, the GA didn't really know much about him and presales showed that. Hence why studios had the opening weekend at like $55M. Not because they didn't think it was a good movie but because they knew the GA wasn't too familiar with his character. Of course now everyone knows who Deadpool is. You can say the same thing about Aquaman. And Cyborg is a nobody to the GA.

It's passing Deadpool WW by its third weekend. Let's not get carried away now. (Now if Deadpool opened in 3D and in China, we maybe having a different conversation) but it didn't do as we stand now it's definitely going over Deadpool WW.

I was under the impression that this movie opened wide globally, however, I could be wrong about this. There may have been less marketing for it than other markets like you've stated.

Absolutely. Like I said just because it doesn't get to $1B doesn't make it a disappointment.

WB won't publicly acknowledge it but it's been brought up plenty of times by people within the industry that WB wanted and expected this movie to gross $1B WW. Just because it doesn't gross $1B WW doesn't make it a disappointment but let's not act like $1B wasn't the goal.

"I'll just stay here and watch this thing crumble on the West Coast." Tele is just taking offense because he's from the West Coast. Don't put all the pressure on his peeps for this movie to crumble or to rise like a Phoenix from the ashes (like that Phoenix tattoo Batfleck has)

So this is looking at a 65% drop, which is in line with how MOS dropped when it was out. It's interesting how Variety has it at $18M for Friday but has it doing $58M and DL has it at $18.5M but has it doing as much as $63M....

Please let's NOT all get drunk. All of our true feelings about this movie are coming out while sober. I don't want to imagine the chaos that will ensue if we talked about this film (or any film) drunk. The mods would just set this board on fire.

They do it ALL THE TIME and then they sit and readjust their numbers to make it seem like they were right all along as if we aren't watching them.

It's going to take them sometime to count all the $$$$ it's going to make this weekend. You have to be patient.

Exactly. It's just a movie. And I have no problem. My point was that when other users were using CinemaScore to say that the B rating isn't good for this movie, others claimed that CinemaScore isn't a good measuring tool. But now those same people who said it's not a good measuring tool are using it because teens and young adults gave it an A. Why? Because it fits the narrative that the original commentor wanted. If it wasn't a good measuring tool then, it certainly isn't a good measuring tool to use in this case either.
