Deadpool with 1.68M for Friday. Just a 25% drop from last Friday. Will it be over/under $5M for the weekend? Now that's the real question that people need to be asking
Since BKB is at work, I figured I could fill in by reporting that my local theater currently has no sell outs for tonight and that it's actually less than half-full when I passed by it 10 minutes ago.
Between 55M and 60M for the opening weekend. It'll barely make 100M there. And I'm basing that on the fact that audiences in China gave it a 6.9/10. So it wasn't well received but many DC films aren't either.
No. They're using the B CinemaScore that viewers gave it. Yes a lot of people liked it but a lot of people didn't like it. It's a very divisive film hence why it's audience scores across the board have been consistent in that regard. (B CinemaScore, 73% on Flixster, 7.6 on IMDb).
I don't even think it's that. I think people want something to talk about. Like with Deadpool people were just shocked at its numbers and it gave them something to talk about. Same with Zootopia. If BvS opens in its normal range it leave us with: okay predictions are correct. And since BvS doesn't look like it's going to exceed expectations people want it to hit lower so they can keep talking about what went wrong and what changes need to be made etc.
*There are some folks who want to see it fail and have openly said that as well.
Possibly. Depends where Deadpool lands. Based on its legs it's looking anywhere from 365-370 maybe a tiny bit more for Deadpool. And we don't know the drops for this movie yet. I think next weekend will give us a better idea of how the legs for this movie are.
