  1. The actuals have yet to come in. Warner Bros is currently trying to find a way to fudge the numbers over of $170M...probably trying to talk to Fox about just taking Deadpool's numbers and adding them to BvS to get that $170M.
  2. So I was at work and haven't been able to check in as often (lucky for you guys!) but did I really just read that Deadpool sold more tickets than Batman v Superman or did I misunderstand CJohn's post? Because if so that's incredibly sad. And I don't mean to hate on the movie because it's going to make $165M but like a movie that stars Deadpool and a bottle of Ajax sold more tickets than a movie starring Batman, Superman and a cameo from Wonder Woman. If you're DC/Warner Bros, how can you possibly be okay with that going forward and trying to start up your Justice league? And I know responses will be that the money speaks for itself blah blah blah but like I think ticket admissions also speak and the fact that a movie with DC's biggest stars couldn't get more butts in the theater than Deadpool is very telling. Just my opinion though.
  3. I think it can do $15M+ in Japan and get to $780M+ WW.
  4. A couple? I think it would have preformed like a lot of Marvel films based on the fact that preformed very well in the other Asian markets.
  5. Raise your hand if you had Deadpool becoming the highest grossing R-rated film of all time without 3D and without China. I remember Rob Liefeld said it would and people laughed at him on Twitter. And it still hasn't opened in Japan.
  6. Stop. You're not allowed to make comments like this. The movie was perfection and anyone who thinks otherwise is a hater, troll or is a Marvel Fanboy.
  7. What would you call a person who doesn't think this movie will make $800M WW?
  8. What are you talking about? Just because I didn't like the movie doesn't mean anything. I always had the movie at roughly $165M and I'm about $5M off. You're making it sound like I was one of the posters who had it not even breaking $150M. It's funny how anyone who doesn't like this movie can't comment on its box office without being ridiculed for it. Get real.
  9. And how do you know what I believe? Clearly those who are using summer weekdays to compare to this movie are trying to fit things into their agenda. Summer weekdays will always play out better than March weekdays. So how you can use that as a comparison is beyond me.
  10. Because people will do anything at all costs to justify their agenda and to fit their narrative.
  11. Just put Ryan Reynolds in the Deadpool suit and have him make a few more videos about how the guy in the red suit needs to beat Jesus. Upload them to social media and bam. It should work
  12. at Deadpool taking in an estimated $5M this weekend. That's just a 38% drop.
  13. Not necessarily. Fox estimated a $135M opening for Deadpool and it ended up making $132.2M or something along those lines.
  14. I can't wait to see everyone's face when the actuals come in and it's less than $170M.
  15. With $170M that means it's Sunday would have to be $38.8M. I don't see that happening and see it closer to the $167M range that Deadline had if not a bit lower. I have a 33M Sunday so let's were it lands...
  16. I had people at work tell me they loved it and then spent the next ten minutes talking about the things that they'd change in it and things that need to be taken out and I'm just sitting there like then how can you love a film you want to change?
  17. At least you've realized why those of us who didn't enjoy it, didn't enjoy it.
  18. BvS wasn't going to revitalize anything...BvS was going to make money from the get go because it's a movie that contains Batman and Superman. As long as you're willing to change it up, be unique, and go outside the box (successfully) then superhero movies will continue to be a success. Deadpool proved that. Ant-Man proved that. Gaurdians of the Galaxy proved that. Those were movies that were different in their own ways and changed up the comic book/super hero genre a bit. The question then becomes is how do the movies I've listed sustain that freshness in their sequels and how do new super heroes being introduced to us (like Wonder Woman, Black Panther, Dr. Strange) bring their own uniqueness to the table.
  19. Reynolds will never get a golden globe nod after saying that he'd describe his penis in a 1,000 words or less to the Hollywood Foreign Press lol
  20. He has a better chance than Ryan Reynolds winning an Oscar for best actor in Deadpool, wouldn't you say?
  21. How is it very likely when it's estimated that it's going to make $168M? That would put it below IM3.
