  1. If they keep a low budget for sequels and focus on continuity ( Saw series really surprised me in that regard. Flashbacks were important for every movie ), then we might see Purge: Brexit soon.
  2. Warcraft dropped like a rock in China, it seems. It made 156 million during its first 5 days and it has failed to make 220 million, despite having almost 1 month of release.
  3. Damn, Warcraft again with a 70% drop, lol. It'll miss 50 million domestic for sure. I don't think it can even make 48 million domestic, thus meaning it'll also miss a 2x multiplier. There's no way producers are happy with these numbers.
  4. This movie is "just" 20 years late. Many people moved on. It's a sequel that nobody needed it. No nostalgia can save it now, BUT it may still make some money regardless. I'll probably watch it soon, but I'm not crazy about it.
  5. Wow, Warcraft is a punching bag. It won't be making 50 million domestic. That's a disaster. If you even get a sequel, you guys better hope China helps its numbers again, lol.
  6. Not good for Independence Day, but not a disaster though. It's about perspective. They took 20 damn years to come with a sequel. People already moved on and many already forgot the first movie. It's facing heavy competition ( Finding Dory ). Emmerich is good with small scale movies. Universal Soldier and The Patriot were grounded and had a fine budget. The first Independence Day had a 75 million budget ( how the hell is that possible? ). Why does every Emmerich movie have a 200 million budget now? Even White House Down had a 150 million budget. That's insane. Add in the "destruction porn" and "disaster movie" issues, and obviously things won't be big for the movie. Overseas grosses will probably be considered.
  7. Sorry for a double post, but has anybody read this article? https://uk.movies.yahoo.com/warcrafts-chinese-box-office-haul-scrutinised-182452264.html They ay Wanda might be fidding the figures...damn.
  8. I guess Apocalypse might finish its run with 120 million... It's impressive, considering the huge competition it got from Warcraft fans and so on.
  9. 85% drop in China? lol This movie is so much fucked up... http://deadline.com/2016/06/finding-dory-warcraft-china-conjuring-me-before-you-x-men-apocalypse-international-box-office-weekend-results-1201775198/
  10. Civil War's performance is all about perspective. It made a huge money. Fact. It had a production budget of 430 million, according to deadline. It had almost every possible Avenger ( minus Thor and Hulk ) + Spider Man and Black Panther + Downey Jr. It'll fail to match Iron Man 3 domestic and overseas grosses. Iron Man 3 was a true solo movie. It had no Avengers, no Shield, nothing. It was entirely focused on Iron Man. So, while the numbers are impressive for a Cap movie, this is far from being a Cap movie. Say what you want, but Marvel wanted this movie to perform like Avengers and not like a "Captain movie". The evidence is that they got Downey Jr and also put Spidey and Black Panther in it. So, Marvel was expecting Avengers numbers. The marketing was tricky. We got a movie with Avengers pretending to be a movie focused on Captain's "perspective", but at the same time it went all global with events featuring the Avengers. Because the Accords will have effects all over the world, which means this movie is about the Avengers and not just about Captain America. At one point, this Avengers movie pretending to be Captain movie ignored the Accords and tried to focus on Bucky for a big part of it. Is Bucky guilty or not? Sometimes I got the feeling that Civil War was trying to be a lot of things, but ended up ignoring a ton of key plots just to play safe again. Similar feeling I got with BVS. Movie was bipolar and tried to be a ton of things instead of trying to be a movie about Batman and Superman. So yes, Civil War's performance might be considered both good and bad. Good if you think this is a Cap movie. Bad if you think that a Cap movie with almost all the Avengers fails to make a solo Iron Man's numbers both domestic and overseas.
  11. I liked Jones previous works and I also think he shouldn't be fully blamed for Warcraft's failure. If the 40 minutes cut is real, then I blame the studio for that. Movie lacked a lot of key scenes. I liked Warcraft, but it was the same guilty pleasure I got with Resident Evil movies. I watched it, then left the theaters joking about it, and I haven't watched it anymore, lol. I basically forgot everything about the movie. They really dropped the ball with that insane budget. Even Resident Evil movies would play safe in that regard, which is exactly why we're getting a 6th movie. They made a profit, but they were grounded with their low budgets.
  12. Wow, it seems Blizzard didn't want Uwe Boll directing Warcraft, because it was such a big online game sucess , and maybe a bad movie would destroy that ongoing income, what the company had with it. http://www.moviechronicles.com/warcraft/warcraft-news/2008-04/blizzard-laugh-away-uwe-boll/ So, I guess a 29% on RT and a 73% drop ( which is actually higher than a couple of Uwe Boll's movies ) are making Blizzard happy then?
  13. It seems I was right 510 million worldwide for now. https://twitter.com/BoxOffice/status/744550834420088832
  14. 76% drop for Warcraft possible, according to Variety. http://variety.com/2016/film/news/finding-dory-box-office-record-breaking-opening-weekend-1201798368/
  15. Watch it as Warcraft fails to even get a 2x multiplier for its opening weekend...It won't be making 50 million domestic by any means. Something also tells me that The Conjuring 2 will fail to make 100 million domestic.
  16. Ghostbusters will be another flop to add to Hemsworth's collection! Dude should pray Marvel keeps making Thor or Avengers movies. He's nothing without them.
  17. 72% drop for Warcraft? That's depressing. Will this movie even make 50 million domestic? If it keeps dropping like that, I don't think so...
