  1. For the win? The reviews aren't strong enough.
  2. I'll be laughing my ass off on nominations morning. Here is where I don't agree with you. That movie will not have the wide spread support needed to WIN best picture. It's way too quirky and small. It will however be nominated. I think 12 Years a Slave has this locked already.
  3. It's getting BP. Support from actors and writers is enough to make it in a field of 5-10.
  4. Those two films are not in competition with each other. They will attract very different people/voters.
  5. 12 Years a Slave American Hustle August: Osage County The Butler Captain Phillips Fruitvale Station Gravity Inside Llewyn Davis Rush The Wolf of Wall Street Runners-Up: Blue Jasmine, The Monuments Men, Philomena, Prisoners, Saving Mr. Banks An extremely strong year.
  6. Grown Ups 2 is a terrible, horrible film. Not The Reader. Anyway, what was HORRIBLE about it? The main criticism was that it failed to deliver an emotional response for some viewers, nobody complained that it was horribly made, acted or written.
  7. No it wasn't. Just because it got nominated instead of The Dark Knight doesn't make it horrible. Come on, be mature about it.
  8. I certainly wouldn't say a nomination is assured for TMM. Clooney doesn't have a great track record as a director recently and the lackluster trailer disappointed quite a few people.
  9. The Butler, 100M locked, Oscar nom almost locked, just waiting on the A+ CinemaScore now
  10. Yes they do, give them some credit.
  11. I can see this going down quite a bit from the first one. It disappointed people, it didn't live up to expectations.
  12. While high profile might not = good, it often = nominations. The campaigns have the money behind them.
  13. A lot of you have very different tastes to the Academy. Most of you skew towards very mainstream, action, blockbuster, broad comedy films. The majority of the Academy simply doesn't share an interest in those types of movies.
  14. There just isn't a space for it. There are too many much higher profile films competing for nominations.
  15. All is Lost American Hustle August: Osage County Blue Jasmine The Butler Fruitvale Station Inside Llewyn Davis The Monuments Men Saving Mr Banks The Wolf of Wall Street Runner-Up: Rush
  16. MU was a lot of fun. DM2 was just bad. Saturday morning cartoon level.
  17. I'd give it a C. Why wasn't it funny?
  18. After Earth Grown Ups 2 The Hangover Part III The Lone Ranger (should not be) Movie 43
