  1. This is not about "behaving". You can't expect a 3 year old to look 2 1/2 hours at a screen where shit blows up constantly.
  2. I'm seriously happy that no 3 year old would even come close to watching the movie in a german theater. There's so much room for bad parenting, so I'm quite happy, when somebody steps in and denies it on some occasions.
  3. I feel like Boss Baby, due too the Trump/Baldwin-Connection, was skewing older than what I expect CU to manage, so I still think this might do $35m with that preview number.
  4. It feels like Fox dumped this, but now it's getting great reviews. Feels like how Paramount dumped one of the greatest movies Dreamworls ever made when the contrackt ended: Rise of the Guardians.
  5. What is going on with Captain Underpants? Is this a dump by Fox with the movie being the last Dreamworks they distribute? There has never been a CGI movie by dreamworks opening ins such a low number of theaters.
  6. As the first animated movie of the summer, I think this might even open to around $35m.
  7. While "The Witch" didn't look appealing to the General Audience, this one looks like a straight up Horrorthriller, that could bring typical Horror Crowds to the movies.
  8. "The Martian" was a great example to hint at a visionary director, that that's what audiences want: New stuff. Robin Hood, those Alien Prequels, Exodus. Those aren't stories worth telling anymore. Maybe it's just the fact, that Scott has no great stories left in his mind.
  9. What a horrible weekend ahead. Let's hope next weekend breaks out, though. BatB is assured to cross $500m on MD WE now.
  10. With a $16,5m Friday, we better look at it clearing $100m first, before we even think about $125m.
  11. Movies potentially targeting african-American audiences usually are not very preview-driven, though.
  12. I don't think that's enough for a $50m opening. Prometheus did almost the same from midnights only 5 years ago. This is not a backloaded franchise at all.
  13. Sometimes it's not the board, that changes, sometimes it's us. It's like in real life. Sometimes things change, sometimes we move in different directions one day. We can't always blame the others. I know exactly what you feel from another board. I have basically grown up in message boards. They are not the same they used to be anymore. Every era has an ending. I don't think it's the new users. It's old users growing up and maybe finding a better, another place. Every community dies out in the end. And then what felt like home once, isn't home anymore. As sad as it is.
  14. Looks like BatB is about to break the $500m-Milestone over Memorial Day. Summer Weekdays should even push it to $505m in the end.
  15. Finally. That's all I can say. And Thank you, seriously. We need to get out of the viral downward spiral of negativity. Life is not shit, we just ask too much of it sometimes. Stay positive, guys. That makes you feel better in the end.
  16. Huh? I'm not upset at all. Why should I be? I would just expect better knowledge from a distributor on MD weekend for a movie that very heavy skews female. Maybe they know something we don't know and/or have shifted some BO to other days and take that from the stronger Mother's day now.
  17. Mh, strangely, Cinderella dropped 28% on Mother's day...for whatever reason.
  18. Wow, Disney is way off with their sunday drop for BatB. This is not conservative, this is actually a very unprofessional projection.
  19. For what it's worth, it stands at 70/100 over at Critics Choice, so it seems not every person thinks it's terrible.
  20. In the Young-Adult and romantic genre? It quite certainly is. At least if it comes to a wide release. I'm not talking about movies with a mainly african-american cast. They exist, of course. Everything, Everything is different, though. There is no mainstream movie like this out there.
  21. Paper Towns has a male protagonist, though and Margo was a horrible charcter. I think this one could actually surprise. Has there ever been a hollywood movie like this with an african-american lead? It should do very well with the target audience and isn't it amazing to finally see a movie with an african-american lead, where the colour just doesn't play any part?
  22. 14h Paris was exactly what Fast 7 did. Fast 7 did it without holidays, though so a slight decrease seems likely. Let's see how the whole day looked.
