    I miss good 3D. But the short-sighted studios ruined it with horrible quality and the theaters with bad lightning. It was fun, and it would still be fun, if only movies like Avatar and Gravity came out and only a couple of them a year. So money good things have been killed by greed, though.

    RT-Votes are alarming for a Disney/Pixar-Movie, but keep in mind, that the hugely anticipated Frozen-Short will play with it.

    When presales started for the first one, it was all over the media, telling you, you have to buy your ticket NOWWWWWW!: It's different this time, start of the presales was not such a huge event, so sales will concentrate on when the final marketing push starts 3 weeks before the movie opens.

    How is Coco getting a release in China? I though ghosts and spirits are banned from movies?

    It's fairly old for an openener in that range, though. The MArtian did 72% over 25. I'm not even sure, if you can open a movie over $40m with a 80%+ share of over 25 crowds.

    Reading the old topic, early estimates had "The Martian" at 17m-18m as well.

    With 18m, I can easily see it doing 47-48m with how old it's audience seems to be. 76% over 25, this should go even higher over the weekend.

    While the Trailer is lacking any imaginantion, I'm certainly surprised by the great CGI. I did not expect this at all. They look like the good old and believable effects of the early Transformers Movies.

    I'm quite confused by how much they look like Transformers now.

    MLP showing up at MT on a wednesday is a pretty good sign.

    The movie is sitting at 85/100 at Critics Choice. This will work out fine.

    The fall market is not weak. That's what studios, for whatever reason, still try to tell us. Every time is the right time, if you open a movie, people want to see. When will they finally stop to create that self-fulfilling prophecy? They rather stuff the so called blockbuster season with more movies, people can pay for and then leave them hanging with material, they hate themselves, in certain months.

    We have Sunday Previews most of the time for Kids Movies starting on Thursday in Germany.

    Kidnap might pull a mini "The Call".

    Aquaman could very well move to TG Weekend. I'm pretty sure, Paramount knows something, we don't know, yet.

    Jep, it would also be less frontloaded than Ice Age 5. So I guess with $10m on friday, it wouldn't go lower than $27m.

    Am I the only one thinking "Black Rough Night " is a pretty humiliating Nickname for the movie?

    The movie was the victim of a dirt campaign before the first trailer even hit.

    I root for Emoji, because, even if it might be a bad movie, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be rated THAT bad, if it wasn't by Sony.

    I'm not talking about Starpower, but about type-casting, audiences expect in such a movie. I see, that is tempting for directors to think they can break some barriers down, but in the end, they usually fail.

    Boyega in Valerian would be very problematic with him already being in SW. Those universes seem way too close, I don't think people would buy it.

    Yepp, Eggsy would have been another good choice. As I said: You need to be charming. If you're charming, you'll have people root for you. That's all that matters.
