As someone who tend to loves the majority CBMs (I even love Suicide Squad), the damn toxic fandom from both sides has taken away any excitement I’ve had for them due to how childish they’ve been. The negativity has also plagued our boards and caused good members to leave or barely visit.

I mean is it really such a bad thing if fanboys leave, I mean most of them don’t post donation or get gold accounts and most of the time toxicity would be gone.

Going to somewhat parrot the others but as an animation fan, I find it sad and hate that Illumination who has been reinforcing the “animation is for kids” by pandering to their audiences which cause most animation studios to do the same bubblegum entertainment. It’s not fair when shit like Minions get to $1.15B and movies like Spider Verse make barely over $350M. Sure you have quite a few good animated films for everyone that break the mold in terms of crazy success. I just wish they and some other studios would step up their quality. That said: If you like Illumination, it’s fine, hell I like Despicable Me 1 and Sing.

Dragon 3 is about to be the first animated film since Grinch to hit a $60M OW, as well as the first non Disney/Illumination/Pixar animated film to hit a $60M OW since The Lego Movie. Dragon 3 may also be the first non Disney/Illumination/Pixar Movie to hit $200M DOM since The Lego Movie. Also, this breakout proves to me that when Dreamworks/Universal does Shrek 5, it hits $200M OW.

Jokes aside Alita is doing what I was expecting O/U RPO WW and around $100M DOM, which although not a juggernaut gross, it isn’t the flop most of us were expecting and is still a strong result. Fox was smart moving it from December, it would’ve been iced.

I was told Alita would easily crush $1B WW.

Cars 3 is the best Cars movie and is one of my top 10 for Pixar so....

This Is The End and The Lego Movie

For those of you who have seen it how does The Hidden World rank against the first two Dragon movies (I am one of the few that like Dragon 2 better than 1 and think both are Grade A films)

No it’s the same animation studio as the last one (Sony Pictures Imageworks) and the original was ordinary. However I am digging the design of Leslie Jones’ Thanos Bird and “I can’t believe it’s not Elsa” phallic Ice Castle reminds of a prehistoric bird in a way. I think it may too, it looks a bit better than the original, that and I trust Thorup Van Orman (creator of Flapjack, which brings back nostalgic memories), besides I truly believe Spies In Disguise or Abominable won’t be a threat to late legs.

That trailer has stalked me for every film I’ve seen in theaters barring Aquaman since November.
