God of War: Ascension starts production today.
“The Cycle Ends Here...”
The epic conclusion of the God of War trilogy enters production as a new synopsis and new cast members are revealed. The plot is heavily inspired from God of War III as well as the movies: Logan and Midnight Run.
“After the events of God of War: Retribution, Kratos finds himself still on the warpath against the king of the Gods, Zeus. However, Kratos has grown wary of his constant pattern in life of vengeance. Kratos then teams up and forms an unlikely bond with a young Pandora, goddess of Chaos, to venture to find the Flames of Olympus to exterminate Zeus as well as the two journey to find peace.”
New cast members include Shree Creeks as Pandora, an eerie yet spunky child and the depowered goddess of chaos who joins Kratos on his quest. Kit Harrington joins the cast as Helios, the God of the Sun. Monica Bellucci joins as Aphrodite, the goddess of love. Florian Munteanu joins as the demigod Hercules, jealous of his half brother Kratos. Alexa Davalos joins as Hera, goddess of fertility. Sean Bean will also replace Liam Nesson as Zeus after some rather controversial comments.
God of War: Ascension aims for a potential Y5 release date with Zach Snyder to return to direct the film.
The following cast is also set to return as well:
Jason Momoa as Kratos
Keira Knightly as Athena
Sean Bean as Zeus
Tom Hardy as Hades
Chadwick Boseman as Hermes
Russell Crowe as Poseidon
Linda Hunt as Titan Gaia
