  1. Friday evening (4pm and later) at my theater. Super surprised they cut showtimes for I Can Only Imagine. They really slashed the showtimes for Tomb Raider and took it off all their Ultra Screens....embarrassing. Sherlock Gnomes 24 524 4.6% Pacific Rim 2 131 1,562 8.4% Love, Simon 45 234 19.2% I Can Only Imagine 40 156 25.6% Black Panther 45 926 4.9% Midnight Sun 16 234 6.8% Paul 12 156 7.7% Unsane 9 312 2.9% Tomb Raider 22 234 9.4% A Wrinkle in Time 12 234 5.1% Strangers 2 2 78 2.6% Red Sparrow 1 78 1.3% Death Wish 1 78 1.3% Game Night 7 156 4.5%
  2. Pulse 1. Pacific Rim: Uprising 2. Black Panther 3. I Can Only Imagine 4. Love, Simon** 5. Avengers: Infinity War **I have a theory about this movie: So it seems to pop up in the evening and night time on Pulse either in #4 or #5. It also performed strong on Pulse and Movietickets during the same time frame last week. My theory (not a super radical one) is that the West Coast/Texas is caring this film heavy. I look at the map of tickets and its is almost entirely selling it in these areas. A user (forgot their name) mentioned that CA schools are on spring break starting this weekend. I hope (think) we are gonna see a strong weekday performance from Love, Simon next week. .....but this is just my theory and who knows. I could be dead wrong haha
  3. Pacific Rim: Uprising 191 1,428 13.4% Midnight Sun 20 156 12.8% Unsane 18 156 11.5% Fuck Pacific Rim: Uprising came in hot at my theater....way way more than I thought.
  4. Yeah it's good. At my theater is struggled yesterday but rebounded today. It's 50 degrees here (unseasonable warm) but it's 7:15pm showing is 80% sold and it's 10:15pm showing is 30% sold. Only Pacific Rim 2 is doing better than it.
  5. So what are we thinking the second weekend will be? Also what in your guys eyes is a good drop/number? I am thinking sub- 30% great 30%-35%- solid 35%-40%- meh 40%-50%- not good 50%+- RIP
  6. I think we have to wait until this Sunday to see where it is going. I am not calling this a loss until after the weekend number comes in. I can definitely see this being a slow move and I think there wasn't a rush factor to see it outside of its core audience hence it opened with $11.8M opening weekend not high teens. Anything under a 35% drop is solid and means legs are kicking in. If it drops over 40% though....well its over I am hoping for 40M+ If you look at high school dramas/comedies this is performing with in the genre limits so it isn't like anything outside of the norm is happening. I think this will have a strong following and be looked back on as a quintessential 2010's high school flick...much like the Breakfast Club.
  7. What happened? I like seeing how other people's theaters are doing. Makes it more fun
  8. Pacific Rim: Uprising 92 1,428 6.4% Midnight Sun 8 156 5.1% Unsane 4 156 2.6% Pacific Rim: Uprising is outselling Tomb Raider, which is good. Sold 27 tickets in the last 24 hours and should pick up.
  9. I'm getting deployed on a short deployment. I leave July 5th and don't come back until July 30th. I might be back earlier or a week later....the Army decides hahah
  10. Roommate took his sister to see it today.....they didn't know what to see and I recommend this movie. Both enjoyed it.
  11. It happens in the book so I guess they didn't have much room for variation but I still agree with you. Like when I was in the closet and I had a private/secret Myspace () so I could talk to a gay guy I knew and..... holy shit did I protect that log in and computer history with my life. It had so secure and protected that it would make the Pentagon jealous hahaha! Glad you enjoyed the movie though! It certainly isn't a perfect film (some of the jokes didn't land for me) but it has a good message, good acting, and felt like a John Hughes-like film.
  12. @Jay Hollywood You gonna do a podcast on this film?
  13. I meant direct competition.. Screen space...yeah it is crowded
  14. Because this thread needs some hope! How Love, Simon was doing at my theater 24 hours ago for $5 Tuesdays VS. how it is doing tonight. It is spring break (both college and high schools) so everybody is out to the movies in full force Love, Simon 6:30pm- 69/110 sold 7:15pm- 36/78 sold 7:45pm- 14/78 sold Love, Simon 6:30pm- SOLD OUT! 7:15pm- 89/110 sold (got upgraded to a bigger screen) 7:45pm- 57/110 sold (also got upgraded) 9:30pm- 18/78
  15. Reading the posts on here. Why is everybody too gloomy? This film opened in expectations and is doing fine so far. it has good WOM, A+ cinemascore, and good reviews. Competition is low on the next few weeks and I don't see any reason for it to have bad holds. It also opened right in line with most high school drama/comedies.
  16. Hopefully it expands this upcoming weekend! Your from Iowa right?
  17. I say this though...considering all the books, films, and TV shows I grew up watching with straight couples it is a miracle I never ended up straight. Made it through all that indoctrination....weird.
  18. Was hoping to have Dark Side up tonight (hence that trailer), but gonna have to delay it until tomorrow or Wednesday night. I need to work somethings out and give it a good reread.
  19. The prime showtimes at my theater are between 6pm and 8pm. 20. 1. Pacific Rim: Uprising- $21.4M ( 2. Black Panther- $17.2M (-35.6%) 3. Sherlock Gnomes- $15.7M 4. Tomb Raider- $10.5M (-55.5%) 5. I Can Only Imagine- $10.1M (-40.9%) 6. 21. Finishing Dark Side is kind of a chore to finish up and I am nervous about the reviews. Ugh, hopefully y'all enjoy it.
  22. I am definitely seeing this in theaters. Trailer makes the film look amazing!
