  1. You're blind man. You're not even addressing people's valid arguments. Plus, I'm not a DC stan. Ask anyone here. Also, I'm not even talking about this in the context of the reviews. Who cares about the reviews? I'm simply talking about the narrative around the film now.
  2. @SpiderByte Come on man, you can't deny that certain portions of the media are pushing this hard ("this" being trying to spook everyone about the impending violence by incels because of the dangerous Joker movie). @Firepower may be going a bit over the top, but I see his/her point: the media seems to be just daring people (presumably, in THEIR OPINION, this film's target audience) to do something horrible. It's pretty freaking messed up. Their agenda here is totally transparent.
  3. It's Marvel Studios. I'm sure they'll find a way to market it as a must see for fans of the franchise. They're almost infallible right now. You're right to have this concern in general. I'm just saying Marvel Studios will get the audience in the theatre somehow and then we'll see why this movie was made. People trust them more than any other studio. This may sound overly easy and simplistic, but it's true.
  4. Why do people even smoke cigarettes anyway? Because it looks cool? Honestly. Happy to say I've never even taken a puff.
  5. See, I thought this before, and it might still be true. However it really depends on how many story threads are introduced in the film. Maybe it's not as simple as "some house chores Black Widow did before she died...". Knowing Marvel Studios, this film probably will serve that purpose while also opening other doors to characters/settings/plots that are very much relevant going forward. I'm willing to give them a chance and. yes. I'll absolutely be there opening night to see for myself. It helps that I adore the cast too!
  6. Awesome! Keep up the good work and keep us posted!
  7. I actually think the abrupt ending was fitting. It kind of represented how her luxurious life at the expense of all those men ended suddenly and before she knew it she was back working at Old Navy. Boom, just like that.
  8. Halfway through the book and I honestly probably can't remember half of what I've read. It's not doing anything for me. I'm solely reading it at this point because I hate not finishing books.
  9. You probably nailed it here. This movie goes hand in hand with strong weekdays due to the target audience and a weak 2nd weekend would make sense due to the fan rush on opening weekend, which there clearly was.
  10. Yikes indeed. Not surprising though. Just skimming over the blurbs on RT, most of them are pretty brutal. No "eh, it's not bad but I personally didn't care for it" kind of reviews. Meh, to be expected for mindless action entertainment. Nothing wrong with it. I may be going this Tuesday to see it with a buddy who is in to these movies.
  11. Looks like I will be seeing this. My little nephew wants to see it and insisted I go with him. Not sure if I'm tagging along with he and my sister and her husband or if it's going to be uncle and nephew time but either way I love afternoons with this cool little guy so I'm looking forward to it! As for the film, I hope I end up enjoying it. This is the perfect chance to give a film that I would have otherwise ignored a chance.
  12. Nope. Sony probably just wants to get it over Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and then call it a day.
  13. Yeah that's what I thought. Makes sense. Thanks! By the way, I recall you saying before your kids were more interested in Addams Family (I think) so that deal works for you guys anyway.
  14. I don't know why I'm the only one who can't help but be disappointed in the It Chapter Two numbers. @baumer what's your take?
  15. Yeah they may be smelling blood with Abominable seemingly lacking in buzz. Wait... Stupid question here, but these deals are done in partnerships with the studio right? Otherwise why would TMobile care what people see?
  16. No, but people just automatically think of that issue when the subject of Mexicans comes up because it's a political issue....and those tend to be intertwined with movies lately.
