  1. Hated Ehrlich's take on this (like I hate most of his takes) but I'm so incredibly excited for this! Perfect release date too. People are going to have so much fun with this over the holidays.
  2. It all comes down to that Sunday drop. Will it follow the pattern set by WB's last two Fall kick-off horror films (It and The Nun) and have a steep drop? I'm guessing yes, as there's really no reason for it to deviate. A 38% drop or lower means it will hit $90M (assuming the $33M Saturday number is correct).
  3. Yeah that was a silly question awhile ago before I did my homework.
  4. Haven't started the book yet. Thinking I'll reserve several hours tomorrow to get a start on it.
  5. Yeah that's true. For me I felt a definite come-down once it was clear the $33M true Friday number was bogus. Totally threw the chances of a $100M OW down the drain.
  6. Not really. Movies don't have to be sanitized or tow a specific line to be recognized.
  7. Loved this! I thought it was scary enough. There was definitely some disturbing imagery (and I'm not just talking about the obvious scenes either). That said, the cast MADE this film. Sure, Hader stood out but they were all just fantastic! The scene that set the stage in this regard - and one of my favourite scenes in the whole movie - was the reunion scene at the Chinese restaurant. My audience had so much fun with that scene. Kudos again to the kid actors for their work in It obviously, but kudos also go to the adult cast for filling their shoes so well in this one. I can see why some people preferred the first though. It was simpler and a tighter film. It was the kids vs Pennywise. In this one we start exploring some of the mythology behind Pennywise and there are certain scenes that might come across...I don't know....goofy? I didn't necessarily think so, but I've seen others kind of allude to that. All in all it truly was an epic end to this story. I really don't think Andy Muschietti could have done much better. This was always going to be the tougher part to pull off. 8/10.
  8. What do you think of Joker winning the Golden Lion?
  9. Barely any talk in this thread is a good indication of how underwhelming the opening is for It Chapter Two.
  10. Well that's a bummer before bed. Now I'm back to being off the $100M train. Guess the multi based on the estimated true Friday really was too good to be true.
  11. You don't sound like a hater at all. There movie just wasn't for you. That's okay.
  12. It's also another small release for WB, at least by their standards. Looks like WB are limiting theatre counts as much as budgets these days.
  13. Not surprised about McAvoy. I personally pictured Tobey Maguire as Bill while reading the book myself. Either way, great feedback! Tomorrow is the day for for me!
  14. If it sticks that's a surprisingly strong OD multi for It Chapter Two. If it follows the same pattern as It then it should clear $100M for the weekend comfortably. If it has a softer Sunday drop we could see $110M. Have to see what Saturday looks like.
  15. Whatever you end up doing in the end, thanks for all the hard work!
  16. Yeah with that preview number $100M is dead. I'm pretty surprised actually. I thought hype for this would be much higher.
