  1. No, but I've considered standing out on someone's lawn.
  2. True, but Super Bowl weekend this year was way worse. In fact it usually is unless big December blockbusters and other holdovers are strong.
  3. Thanks. I forgot BOM had a full chart for this. I'll consult this before asking in the future.
  4. Sad to see It Chapter Two tracking down as we go along. I guess even with the epic finale factor it's been difficult to drum up the same interest the first one had two years ago.
  5. Anyone know if anything is expanding wide this weekend?
  6. Looks like I'll be catching this on Saturday, as my theatre isn't getting anything new for Labor Day weekend. My brother and his friend saw it and had fun with it. They're anticipating a 4th.
  7. This was fun! Loved Samara Weaving. Charming and cute, but tough and funny as well. Also really liked Henry Czerny. Won't go into details because of spoilers, but there's potential to do other movies. Not necessarily a sequel but there was a bit of world building in this that I was intrigued by.
  8. As I suspected, this isn't coming to my theatre. Ah well, will have to catch it on Netflix.
  9. https://youtu.be/ZngxYCDt-Vw IMDB synopsis: After surviving an IED explosion in combat overseas, a young soldier with the Army Motorcycle Unit is medically discharged with a broken back and leg. Against all odds he trains to make an impossible comeback as a motocross racer in order to support his family. Didn't find a thread for this. BOM lists this as opening wide in 970 theatres this weekend (Labor Day weekend). Anyone else heard of this?
  10. It is ludicrous. People are just very sensitive after A) a disappointing year at the box office outside Disney's tentpoles + Sony's FFH and B ) getting burned by their own over-predictions.
  11. Some people here are getting waaaaay too reactionary. Perhaps a byproduct of getting burned with too high expectations in the past. I know it's hard, but let's just wait until September 6, shall we?
  12. Looking like this will make between half and three quarters of its budget back domestically. As I said, the reviews really surprised but business at the box office has been a dud.
  13. This was filmed in Langley?? I had no idea. Also had no idea about that story. That's just awful. Horrible. I also agree with your surprise that there was no uproar there. That's quite close to home, if you will.
  14. She appears in the most random movies doesn't she? Probably seeing this on Labor Day weekend. Really enjoyed the first one and I love Butler in this role. Looks like a fun one!
  15. Yeah, I can see how people are willing to get behind the ideas in this movie rather than the movie itself. Still looks really fun though. Seeing it Tuesday.
  16. A women's group at my mom's church got to see an advance screening of this back in the spring. The reaction was unanimous: they loved it. Mom told me they can be pretty critical so it's not like they were just blindly praising a Christian movie either. If you do catch it I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts.
  17. Anyone else intrigued by this? I doubt I'll get to see it as it likely won't be playing where I live but it looks good to me. Looking forward to seeing what people think of it.
  18. Finally got my ticket for Saturday September 7! Also doing a rewatch of It at my place with some friends the night before. So ready for this!
