  1. Nah, I get it. I don't care which side of the political spectrum you're on, there was no reason to cancel the release of this film. Politics have become what religion was hundreds of years ago: a very powerful divide.
  2. Good point. Films moving forward rarely happens, unless it's by a week or something. Ah well, what can you do?
  3. Of course it could, and more could break out too. That's my point. September can fit more than just... The Goldfinch Hustlers Ad Astra Rambo: Last Blood Abominable ...after IT 2. I repeat: if they're ready, I think some films can be subtracted from the absolute glut of small to mid-size releases in November and moved to September.
  4. Agreed. It seems like studios have TOO much respect for franchise films, which is why we're getting schedules like this year. Sure, September kicks off with the sure-hit IT 2 but there's plenty of breathing room during the rest of the month for more films to do well. With the cancellation of The Hunt, only FIVE more wide releases are slated in September after IT 2. Come on now. It's like it's Endgame. IT 2 is going to be big but it's not going to swallow up the entire month.
  5. See that's the thing. Nobody wants to be saddled between franchise films anymore so schedules like this are going to be more common. I don't know about you but it would be nice to have a little more meat on the bone between September 6 and October 4.
  6. September was dead already. Now it's even more dead. I wonder if any current November releases would be ready for a September release?
  7. Not surprised at all by these reactions. This looks completely uninteresting to me. By the way, does anyone else see an Indian Harry Potter in the main actor?
  8. Yeah, Sony may be seeing the rise in Tuesday grosses like we are and thinking it's a better date than Wednesday, especially when it's a kids/family movie and we're in summer. You think this might become the new norm (aka non-Friday releases being released on Tuesday instead of Wednesday)?
  9. I know your citing legitimate stats, but I find that median VERY hard to believe. More than ever senior citizens are having to work until they die because their pension is pitiful. Not all can live a life of luxury in their senior years if they don't plan and save, but the government can do better. I'd have to dig up the number but basic pension is embarrassing. Basic welfare as well. All so the various ministers and higher ups can have huge, bloated salaries (Translink CEO just got a huge totally unnecessary raise to over $500K!).
  10. Yes, on Sunday. It's been on my radar for awhile now. Disappointed in the early reception though. We'll see what I think of it personally.
  11. I'm not American, but whatever. OMG hide your wives and children right??
  12. Yeah this film is looking like a success at the moment. Doing well critically and we'll see about the box office, but that's looking promising too. Seeing The Kitchen on Sunday and I think I'm seeing this on Tuesday. We'll see.
  13. Great post. You and I sound pretty aligned, especially the bold. The silver spoon and cronyism is the kind of stuff I dislike about Trump and leaders like him. He says he wants to put America first and I believe him to a degree. That is to say, I think he puts money, and those with a lot of it, first. I'm all about putting one's nation - and every single citizen from all social classes in it, especially multi-generational ones - first, not bettering the 1% even more. I support Maxime Bernier and the PPC here in Canada. There is a lot of what he calls crony capitalism running rampant in this country and he seeks to get rid of all that, bring in less immigrants - especially those who work for dirt cheap because their families back home support them - and educate/train more Canadians. Our veterans, our senior citizens and our multi-generational Canadians from the middle and lower class are struggling mightily and getting the bare minimum support. That has to change, and it starts with having a non-globalist, non-liberal leader with some strength and national pride.
