  1. Pretty much. There's a small chance it could surprise a bit though. We all applied the same logic to Alpha last August and it didn't end up doing too bad (relatively speaking).
  2. About a million over what I had it pegged at so it dropped a little better than I thought. Hope it holds well throughout the rest of August and into September. The rest of August is barren in terms of anything resembling interesting options and September is barren in terms of sheer choices (6 wide releases total). There's room for this thing to overperform domestically.
  3. You know what? I do see that. Looks like my theory that this is this year's Crazy Rich Asians for WB is way off. It was originally opening on the same date (Wednesday August 14) but it's opening in 1000+ less theatres and clearly doesn't have the buzz. DOA?
  4. Thread still needs a date change. Speaking of which, is this even still releasing? I've seen zilch about the film and it opens in 4 days. Marketing wise I mean. I've seen the trailers.
  5. BOM lists this as releasing in 3600+ theatres. Typo or what? Either way I'm there! I like the concept of the characters exploring ancient ruins but having said ruins infested with sharks.
  6. Who called this kind of early reception for The Angry Birds Movie 2?? Obviously could still go way down but....not bad. Really curious to see if it translates to a mid-level late summer hit at the box office.
  7. 75% on RT after 36 reviews: https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_angry_birds_movie_2/ Critcs Consensus: Like its non-aerodynamic title characters, The Angry Birds 2 takes improbable yet delightfully entertaining flight, landing humorous hits along the way.
  8. I don't know if there are so many Disney "fanboys" as there are people who just like what they're doing and defend them from Disney haters. There are DEFINITELY Disney haters.
  9. I honestly have no idea. I didn't care to look into it. As I said, I just happened to come across several Twitter posts about the subject when I was looking for an HD image of the Dora poster for my sister.
  10. Nice to know the horror/monster elements were the best part because I was going to ask, is this movie actually scary in parts? There were parts of the trailer that were genuinely unnerving so I have hope.
  11. Regarding the character of Enzo and his personality, does it stand out enough to distinguish the film adequately from the other cute dog releases we've seen this year?
  12. The Kitchen is more edgy and cool I guess?? Kind of like the nick names that some sports arenas have. No idea. By the way I'll now be seeing this on Tuesday so I'll share my thoughts then. I was supposed to see it yesterday but couldn't make it out to Kamloops (no cinemas in this little town I'm in).
  13. Nice. Sounds like Awkwafina is about to go big. By the way, still the one negative review (out of 211 total reviews) on RT from Martha K. Baker of KDHX St. Louis. 99% RT score and 88% verified audience score.
  14. Agree for now (until I see all the other performances that eventually get nominated). He was fantastic. Loved Leo too, as always.
  15. LOL! What makes Avatar any better than Marvel or Star Wars? By the way, your trolling really sticks out like a sore thumb with the rest of the Jim gang gone. Everyone has gone home and you're the kid in the school yard still trying to pick a fight while everyone else is just doing their own thing. It's actually kind of humorous to watch.
  16. You've come at the right time too, right after the exodus of the Jim Gang, aka JCS and his alts (unless you're a JCS alt.....).
  17. It's literally like a dog running in circles chasing its tail. People just want to be outraged and can't decide what they want to be outraged about. I think the sensible approach would have been to release the film and let people squawk. It's literally like letting a baby cry him/herself to sleep instead of pandering to them.
  18. With everything I've learned lately about pedophile rings in the most elite circles in the world, I have no doubt his death was orchestrated, as were many of the supposed drug related deaths and suicides in Hollywood.
  19. Oh yeah that's what I got too, but I couldn't distinguish if one side was conservative and one liberal. To be frank, I just assumed the ones doing the hunting were the conservatives because that's usually how it's portrayed. Either way, it doesn't really matter to me. It's a movie. I wish it was being released.
