  1. The U.N. is corrupt. You want no part of them.
  2. We'll have to see how badly August's other offerings are rejected. H&S may just be the go-to option for the entire month until It: Chapter Two (if it wasn't already).
  3. Yeah that's a good point. Watching the trailer, the film doesn't strike me as anything that couldn't have been made for and seen on TV. I'm betting on under $1,500 PTA for this on OW, which means a $2.25M weekend or under.
  4. What are the highest grossing films in Canada? I'd like to see how it slightly differs from the main domestic list.
  5. How are you feeling about this now @SLAM!? The same? Breakout, dud or somewhere in between? There's a chance it pulls an I Can Only Imagine but I'm willing to bet this will get lost in the shuffle among the 4 other wide releases it's sharing that date with, which aren't tracking too hot themselves. O/U $1,500 PTA on this one, folks?
  6. I hope the quality is there with this one because if it is, it could surprise. I like the concept.
  7. Man, I guess I just really overestimated the appeal of this movie. I don't even know why either lol. @baumer It's like I have the exact reverse take on the movie as you.
  8. Nah it's all good. I know exactly what you mean about basic concepts that you just never happen to think about until it's pointed out or staring at you right in the face.
  9. Ugh, ain't it always the way! Gotta be Armond White.
  10. Yeah, I mean he's not a great actor. However I'm glad he at least tried to mix it up rather than always being cool as a cucumber about everything. Even if the acting was bad, it was refreshing to have the plot point with his son that actually drew that desperation and emotion out of the character. I guess you could say I don't have the highest expectation for the acting quality in these movies so that's why I can be so "glass half full" and positive about it, rather than critical.
  11. I hope this manages a 50% hold. I think it can given it seems H&S will likely be pretty underwhelming this weekend. $20M would be great!
  12. I mean, their rationale makes sense. There just might not be enough audience to go around for all 4 of those movies. But like you said though, it might still be a mistake if Art bombs. It's one of those situations that could go either way and it comes down to the theatre owner/manager knowing their audiences.
  13. Wow! That's that weekend's widest release. Maybe your theatre's audiences aren't kids/family heavy. You would know better obviously.
  14. Unless H&S does unheard of walkups, looking like it's not even locked for $50M with those preview forecasts. Brutal.
  15. One reason is simple: these franchise films are cranked out at such a high rate now that the visuals are usually pretty sub-par. Even the almighty MCU is sub-standard in this regard. Star Wars at least does much better with this. They use as many practical effects and sets as possible.
  16. That sucks, especially because I myself am a stickler about that kind of thing. I loathe green screen even though I know it's necessary for these kind of movies.
  17. I'm just loving all the positive feedback from folks here. Sounds like it actually delivers on what it promises in the trailer: a really fun - and funny - movie! Glad so many people enjoyed it. I'm very much looking forward to seeing it Sunday.
  18. I won't argue with that. That's why I hate this whole feud that's going on. The Rock should have been in this to the end.
  19. 5 wide releases. Dora and the Lost City of Gold Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark The Art of Racing in the Rain The Kitchen (2019) Brian Banks
