Well also Rocket and Groot are part of an ensemble. GOTG aren't called Rocket Raccoon and Groot while Ant-Man has to carry the film and be in the title.

Even if this gets $100M I still see a very healthy Multiplier for the film. Families are going to love this film.

They also mentioned a time vortex or something in the post credits scene. No doubt related to Avengers 4. I just love how the Ant-Man franchise at its heart is about a relationship between a father and a daughter.

You must have missed all those hateful tweets towards Geoff Johns and Joss Whedon.

I think you can just read the plot summary of the first and you'll be fine.

It's pretty mind boggling how much Shrek 2 made back in 2004. Dunno if a Shrek 5 would make over $400M but the first four Shrek films are still the four highest grossing Dreamworks films in North America. Shrek 5 is a no brainier for Universal and it would be pretty easy to get the core cast back.

$450M seems like a safe bet. But yeah would love it if it made over $500M which should be considered quite an overperformance over the first one.

They are starting their own studio after Avengers 4 so I can see them be like JJ Abrams and produce a bunch of films but also hopefully directing non-franchise films which is what Abrams supposedly was planning after Star Trek into Darkness.

James Gunn for a couple of years after he got GOTG mellowed out on twitter but yeah has been very outspoken in the past year or so. Honestly if I was a director I would only use Twitter just to promote the latest release or not have it all. Like the Russo Brothers.

Fallen Kingdom's performance is hardly noteworthy either in a positive or negative light relative to expectations. Definitely not overperforming but also not really underperforming that much at least not enough to make Universal concerned at all. I do think Jurassic World 3 will decrease once again. By how much? Yeah no clue.

Eh Snyder being producer or not won't be the deciding factor of how good the Flash film will be. Who cares if he's producing or not. I imagine since he laid much of the groundwork of establishing Barry Allen (now how much of that ended up in the actual Justice League film we'll never know) much like he did with Wonder Woman in BvS that they recognised that hence a producer credit.

Decision totally makes sense but I will miss them purely because I have so much nostalgia over the Winnie the Pooh films they produced in the early 2000s. I still have great memories rewatching The Tigger Movie and Piglet's Big Movie all the time as a little kid. Oddly enough I think I watched those films as much as the Pixar films (which were easily the biggest part of my childhood) and even more than most actual Disney Animation Films.

Jon Kasdan has little to do with Solo's bombing. I liked Solo the best out of the new Star Wars films so I'm actually ok with this.

I can see GOTG Vol 3 getting $170M but yeah no way it gets close to $200M.

I guess Episode IX could miss $600M if it opened right at $200M and had legs similar to TLJ.

Confession: Yesterday was the first time I watched Titanic from start to finish. I'd seen the last third of the film on tv before but never the entire film. Yeah I can understand why and how it was so successful at the box office. Never felt the length of the running time one bit.

I don't think Brad Bird regrets turning down TFA for Tomorrowland despite the way Tomorrowland ended up being received. Though I will blame him for unleashing Colin Trevorrow into the blockbuster realm lol

Technically it's Brad Bird's fault Trevorrow got involved with Jurassic Park and Star Wars in the first place.

Nah I think Black Panther 2 will open at least $170M. Numbers just keep getting better for Fallen Kingdom!

I got a legitimate headache watching Transformers: The Last Knight. Like who thought it was a good idea to have fight sequences constantly change aspect ratio??

So Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom's Opening Weekend will be below what the majority of posters thought its Weekend would be a month ago but also higher than what people were saying via presales just days ago. A perfect glass half full half empty scenario. Glad it happened to this film at least as opposed to a Marvel/DC/Star Wars film where the thread might really have gotten toxic. As for the film itself found it very dumb and silly but I did get some decent enjoyment from it. I feel like I've seen the ending of the film before though.....

Seeing Fallen Kingdom in a couple of hours. If it's bad it better be bad in an entertaining way. Can't have a boring dinosaur film.
