  1. Disney will be fine in the short run but I'm sure they're now going to keep a much closer look at how Lucasfilm is being handled and how their handling their Star Wars films. The production troubles were probably less concerning to them when TFA, Rogue One and TLJ made $1 Billion+ but now with Solo's terrible performance you bet there's gonna be a microscope on Kathleen Kennedy's handling of Lucasfilm from Alan Horn and Bob Iger.
  2. Yeah it's their trump card in the marketing even mores than Zootopia's Sloth scene that was pushed in every trailer of that film.
  3. It's Disney's annual sacrifice for their domination they currently have.
  4. I think Pirates has 1 more film left in the tank before the franchise takes a Transformers like dive. I would admittedly be curious to see what they do with a 6th even though I found the 5th just "eh whatever".
  5. I feel I should be way more excited for this (doesn't help I can't see it on Opening Weekend) considering The Incredibles was one of if not the first film I ever saw in cinemas. Something just isn't clicking with me in the story. Even Finding Dory I was anticipating a little bit more for some reason.
  6. Sucks Josh Hazlewood is out of the England tour. Literally going to England with a B team.
  7. Disappointed I have to wait until mid-September to watch this but it does make sense as it's during school holidays.
  8. I honestly don't think the rehash complaints affected Rian Johnson when he wrote the script. Remember he had most of the script done before TFA came out. TLJ is purely Rian Johnson's reaction to how he felt about TFA and how to move the story forward. Hence why you can tell which parts was Rian Johnson fully invested in and which parts felt tacked on. Part of this was because TLJ was supposed to come out Memorial Day Weekend of 2017 before being pushed back to December when TLJ was already well into production.
  9. This thread is not nearly as busy as I thought a Star Wars film would be but hey it does reflect the numbers. Anyways I enjoyed this film quite a bit! Emilia Clarke was the surprise standout for me even though her turn in the end was completely predictable. And if anything if they were gonna do a sequel to this film it did a good job of getting me both excited for future adventures with Han and Chewie and also intrigued with how Qi'ra works with Maul (but Maul himself not really that intrigued by since I know his story already though it was a nice acknowledgement to Filoni and fans of The Clone Wars and Rebels). And yeah with TLJ much of the complaints that it's basically the anti-Empire Strikes Back or anti-ROTJ is because of certain set ups by TFA. Now that didn't mean Rian Johnson had to write the Canto Bight subplot or the Poe/Holdo subplot the way they ended up being but I do give him some leeway with how he handled Rey, Luke and Kylo Ren with the attempt to break out of the mold set by TFA.
  10. Yeah 90% sure they'll move Avengers 4 up a week and again won't reveal it until early next year just to keep other studios on their toes.
  11. I don't mind the fact that many Youtube Channels aren't that great with box office numbers. Like I myself am still learning quite a bit. I just hate it when they let their personal bias with certain franchises get in the way of looking at the numbers objectively.
  12. Oh and she called Black Panther's Overseas Gross "soft" because Black Panther had a far bigger percentage of its Overall gross be from Domestic... I loved it when she said there was no way Infinity War was going to make $200M on Opening Weekend in China and then when it did justified it by saying Disney had some unfair advantage with the Disney theme parks that are in China. Sure ain't helping Solo's numbers in China lol
  13. I watch Grace's videos for a good laugh now. I still remember she was bending backwards trying to justify how Spider-Man: Homecoming was a flop even though she knew it hadn't had its China release yet.
  14. Jake Kasdan got to a direct a film the grossed $400M+ in North America. Jon Kasdan got to write a film that might not even make that much Worldwide.
  15. It's a superb documentary and I love how it doesn't shy away from when Lucas makes mistakes or has doubts on the production.
