To think also Incredibles 2 got a year taken off their production once Pixar realised Toy Story 4 was nowhere near ready for 2018 so they had to get Incredibles 2 done for this year otherwise Pixar would have nothing to release for this year.
That number for Incredibles 2.......
The Incredibles will always remain my favourite Pixar film but that was because it was one of if not the first film I saw in Cinemas so yeah it was my "I grew up with this" film. Ratatoullie might be my 2nd or 3rd favourite though.
Honestly it's like some fans are waiting to be offended and then complain about. Well yeah if you think everything is an attack on you then of course you're going to get offended easily.
Brad Bird has pretty much ruled out doing anymore sequels to his other films. Incredibles 2 was the one exception and it took 14 years.
But damn that just made me realise Ratatouille is over 10 years old....getting to the stage where nearly all the Pixar films which I grew up with are nearly 10 years old.
Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly handed them the first draft and they only read the parts that had dinosaur action and they said "good job guys it's a greenlight!".
Yes if a new franchise came out today with dinosaurs as a major part it will be constantly compared to Jurassic Park. So the franchise has one hook that will very likely never go away even if it's appeal diminishes somewhat over time if Universals keeps regularly making Jurassic World films.
I do wish they put someone other than Colin Trevorrow in charge of the direction of the franchise though.
China's Top 10 in 2017 had a more diverse range of films than North America's Top 10. You could argue that Star Wars isn't focused on quality but rather nostalgia which is why it's done so well in traditional markets but has failed in other regions where there is no affinity for the Original Trilogy.
My Top 10 (hopefully I'll have a more comprehensive list by the deadline)
1. The Lion King (1994)
2. Princess Mononoke (1997)
3. Spirited Away (2001)
4. The Incredibles (2004)
5. Fantasia (1940)
6. Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984)
7. Inside Out (2015)
8. Grave of the Fireflies (1988)
9. Ratatoullie (2007)
10. Your Name (2016)
Part of my interest is how far are Universal going to push this franchise. Like is there going to be more films past Jurassic World 3 or will they take an extended break after the 3rd one.
