    You think the hurricane in CA will affect the gross for Blue Beetle? CA is 40% Latino so I think it’ll have an impact unfortunately

    What other problems does it have? It’s already a bomb and people are over DC films not named Batman. Not much can be done besides enjoy it and look forward to Xolo returning in the DCU (if that new universe even is successful) edit: also the hurricane hitting CA may effect grosses this weekend, so everything is going wrong with Blue Beetle lol

    So basically we’re looking at a 23-30M weekend based on preview numbers with a domestic finish of around 46-90M depending on where it opens and how good the legs are? International 60-140M for a finish of around 106-230M (bad legs vs great legs and no China). I’m really rooting for this film, but it ain’t looking good sadly

    That’s a bad opening but whatever it was expected. Blue Beetle is obscure and DC as a brand is dead (outside of Batman). Still happy since it seems the film is good and I get a bunch of new BB stuff out of this

    Don’t tell me this is going to be yet another DC film that gets its certified fresh revoked! Lol UK reviews seem to hate it

    that’s what I’m thinking. Maybe around 77% the negative reviews seem to be coming from the critics facing superhero fatigue, at least that’s what I get from the reviews. Generic plot, that’s held together by a focus on Latino culture/family and a strong performance from Xolo. Actions seems like it’ll be good. Hoping for strong WOM

    You are really invested in how this film will perform huh? Loo Blue Beetle is my favorite DC character and I hope the film does well enough to warrant a sequel but even if it doesn’t, I’m quite happy I’ll have this film to binge watch, a new comic to read (thanks to the film), as well as cool new merchandise of the character! Plus Gunn says Xolo as Jaime will be back so I’m content

    Went up to 82 with 75 reviews. Seems critics are a lot harsher on superhero films these days… seeing a lot complaining about the been there done that end battle… like duh it’s a superhero film 😂 Edit: Might land in the 75-85 range

    And it’s 3rd weekend is Labor Day weekend so it actually has a good schedule, especially with no competition.

    Because we already got behind Coco and now we need a live action win! Hasn’t gone good for us so far in live action

    Lol what?! The trailers reminded me of my family so I don’t see why that’s such a bad thing! I think many Latinos will see their family dynamic on the big screen with the Reyes clan

    Yeah then they should have just sent Blue Beetle to Max because with those numbers it’s not even worth it. Let’s just get through Aquaman so the nightmare for DC fans can finally be over.

    I was moreso thinking Brazil because of Bruna and Mexico because of the Mexican actors they cast. Plus Cobra Kai was pretty big in Latin America. On side note I’m wondering if BB will manage a 2x multiplier since both Flash and Shazam 2 failed to do so

    So it’s looking like 3-4M in previews with a range of 18-32M opening weekend (low to high end). Unless word of mouth is stellar and walk ups are out of this world, the DCEU is looking at its 7th flop in a row? Well the DCEU sure is making history! Lol on a side note, how are international sales? Maybe Latin America can save it?

    So a flop rather than a bomb? Oh well, guess I’ll just have to wait for Namor to get his solo film to get a successful Latin American superhero Also mentally preparing myself for DC ignoring Blue Beetle for the next 20 years in all forms of media (like they did Hal after GL flopped).

    This thread is giving box office Reddit so many Blue Beetle posts lol! Anything you guys post is turned into a thread over there! Hoping for a miracle but it seems Latinos don’t care and the DC fan base shrinks every day! Sad really because this is likely the last time we’ll ever see Jaime again!

    At this point, the negative people are going to be negative regardless and there’s no winning them over at all. Their mind is made up. As for the reviews, it seems the family dynamic, Xolo himself, the cgi/action and jokes are getting praised the most while the villains are just alright and story is a typical origin story (with added Latino culture so that’s a bonus).

    Maybe but so far it looks like they nailed the Latino family dynamic down and I can’t wait to see that. I saw glimpses of it in the trailer but these reactions make me hopeful! Also Injustice 2 inspired action for Blue Beetle just sounds so amazing!!

    That suit is incredible! It looks so good! Practical was definitely the right call and whoever made that decision deserves a raise! Also hoping for positive reactions that help trend presales upward on Friday!

    I want those pop corn buckets! Lol I love the suit!! Anyway, tickets are on sale and I plan on getting mine soon, just have to plan it out with the family and make sure our schedules align. Can’t wait!

    Great more Batman and Batman characters, just what the world needs they already do that in the comics… and it’s annoying! Please don’t let that happen to the films too! I don’t know why WB/DC is so bad at making people care about their characters! Blue Beetle is an awesome character and now he’s going to have a box office bomb permanently attached to him (like Flash, Green Lantern, Shazam all do)
